We are deeply saddened to report the sudden passing of Philip DeAndrade, co-owner of Goat Hill Pizza.
Philip was found in his bed on Saturday and died peacefully.
He was one of the very best. A symbol of all that is good about our community. He was kind, generous, compassionate, fun-loving and adventurous.
Under his leadership, Goat Hill Pizza epitomized Potrero Hill and became one of its most generous businesses. No school fundraiser, community event or festival seems compete without free slices of their delectable pizza.
Philip served as president of our merchants association for about a dozen years, helping to build a thriving and robust business community in the neighborhood.
We will profoundly miss his tireless energy, his endlessly upbeat attitude... and his great guffaw.
Rest in peace - Goat Hill Phil.
