📢 1 in 8 South Asians are undocumented.
ICE raids don’t just target one community; they target all of us.
ASATA is currently supporting a mutual aid fund to protect immigration communities, including South Asians, impacted by ICE violence. Together, we can offer direct support, rapid response, and collective safety.
💸 Give $25–$100 to help us reach our $10K goal.
🫶🏽 Every dollar keeps our communities safe and resourced.

We’re so honored to be in conversation with these powerful leaders at We Belong Here: Bhutanese & HMoob Americans in the Struggle Against Statelessness -- a virtual community event this Monday, Nov 3 at 4PM PT / 7PM ET!

During the event, we’ll hear from State Representative Mai Xiong and State Representative Abdullahi, who will share updates on the growing number of Bhutanese, HMoob, and Southeast Asian community members being detained in their states (Michigan and Ohio respectively).

We're also going to be uplifting two ongoing campaigns, one to which centers Lue Yang, a Hmong community leader from Michigan, and another to Free Mohan Karki, a Nepali-speaking Bhutanese refugee from Ohio.

You’ll hear directly from their wives, Ann Vue and Tika Basnet, who continue to fight for their husband's return and for all refugee communities facing deportation.

The program will be hosted by Miko Lee and feature Aisa Villarosa Asian Law Caucus who will break down the legal implications of these detentions and what’s at stake for Asian immigrant communities nationwide. Attendees will also gain tools and resources, including Know Your Rights, FOIA Requests, and tips for staying safe at election polls this November.

Kashmir, the most militarized region of the world, has been a key site of anti-colonial struggle for decades. On May 27, ASATA will be hosting a crucial teach-in about Kashmir and how it fits into out broader fight for justice.

We are excited to be hearing from Dr. Hafsa Kanjwal who is an associate professor of South Asian History in the Department of History at Lafayette College and Zainab Ramahi, organizer and attorney who has previously worked at Palestine Legal.

We hope you will join us May 27th 5-6:30pm PST as we educate and empower each other in the global fight against occupation!
