SSS Viking

SSS Viking The Sea Scout Ship Viking is a sailing program for high school girls in San Francisco that focuses on sailing traditional whaleboats.

We are sailors, rowers, and all-around awesome girls! Follow us on twitter and on instagram.com/SSS_Viking Viking offers an exciting boating program on San Francisco Bay. For a cost of $200 annually, you can join our crew and sail our historic, wooden 30′ Whaleboats, and cruise our other boats. Highlights of the program include:
• An annual, two-week summer cruise on the Sacramento Riv

er and the San Joaquin Delta.
• Weekend and overnight cruises from our base at Aquatic Park to Angel Island, Sausalito, and other locations around the Bay.
• Year-round sailing cruises and practices.
• A pulling whaleboat (rowing) team with regular practices and competitions.
• Regattas with Sea Scout groups from all over California.
• Powerboats and waterskiing.
• Instruction in piloting, boat repair, life saving, and other valuable seamanship skills.
• US Coast Guard safety training.
• Dances, other social activities, and much more! The Sea Scout Ship Viking offers an exciting program with plenty of opportunities based upon a rich tradition. If you are looking for unique and exciting experiences, you will find them here!

We had so much fun watching the Golden State Valkyries game on Sunday! 💜 As a youth scouting and sports program, it meant a lot to see our very own WNBA team playing locally. Thank you so much to the Valkyries for offering our youth a chance to go on the court after the game and try out their free throws. 🏀💪

Our girls program was recognized nationally earlier this year and the kids were excited to see mention of that on the Chase Center screen (2nd to last photo) at the game! We emphasize leadership, teamwork, inclusion, and physical fitness as part of our program, all values the Valkyries team provides inspiration in. We’re excited to hopefully go to more games in the future!
