Location: 1524 Powell Street, SF American Legion Cathay Post 384 is the largest war time veterans organization in the country that serves veterans and the community. Our members have served from World War II thru the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. Our post was founded in 1931 and is one of the oldest and most active posts in San Francisco. Cathay Post 384 is a

lso the older Chinese American post in The American Legion. Cathay Post serves veterans and members of the local community. Membership to Cathay Post 384 is open to all eligible service members and veterans who meet the guidelines as established by The American Legion. Civilians who support veterans and our organization are welcome to join as support group members. Our monthly meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month at 11 am at the post headquarters. The address is 1524 Powell Street, near Vallejo Street, in San Francisco.

Here's a news clip from our local ABC 7 channel on our 1st ever Fleetweek Heroes Block Party on Oct. 9th, 2025. Our Cathay Post 384 members Raymond Wong (Judge Advocate), Tony Riviera & Helen Wong (Jr. Past Commander) were interviewed. Thank you again to all the members & volunteers to help make this happen especially Comrade Nelson Lum (Past Commander), who headed the planning of the Block Party! Let's see if we can maybe do another one when there's not a Government Shutdown.

We would like to thank you for the tremendous outpouring of support and generosity at our 94th Anniversary Installation & Awards Banquet on Saturday, July 19, 2025!

Congratulations to our current Officers for 2025-2026 and to the 1st Responders, Community & Post Awardees. We had approximately 470 attendees at this year's banquet. Everyone who attended, volunteered, or contributed to the event is greatly appreciated. The success of the event was made possible through everyone's involvement. We hope to see you next year at our 95th Anniversary celebration!
