National Council Of Negro Women, Inc Golden Gate Section Mission Statement: To lead, develop, and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities.

Preamble: The mission of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) is to harness the power of African American and other minority women to ensure access to and full participation in the socio-economic-political systems which impact upon the quality of life for all persons. To carry out this mission, NCNW works through research, advocacy, National and community-based services and programs in

the U.S. and in African countries, affiliated organizations, NCNW Sections, Guilds, individuals and a diversity of agencies and organizations in both the public and private sectors. The goal of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. is to develop and sponsor educational and charitable projects and programs to meet community based organizational needs, provide cultural enrichment for youths, and adults, and formulate programs promoting personal development and leadership qualities of women to strengthen the economic and social position of African American women, their families and communities.

The NCNW YACA Committee is pleased to commemorate 90 years of sisterhood, service, and inspiring leadership today. On December 5, 1935, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune founded NCNW with a bold and transformative mission: to uplift, advocate for, and empower Black women, their families, and their communities. 9 decades later, we are still guided by her belief in the strength of togetherness, education, and deliberate action.
As we commemorate this achievement, we consider Dr. Bethuneโ€™s legacy, which is based on bravery, discernment, and a strong dedication to social change. She showed us that women can make a difference in the world when they unite with purpose. NCNW continues to proudly carry her torch, from promoting civil rights and educational access to attending to community needs and developing the next generation of leaders

Today, NCNW sections around the country reaffirm their commitment to the following goals:ย

๐Ÿ’œ Educating and empowering our communities.ย
