This was a great Lichen Dye workshop today with Celeste Pace through the Mycological Society of San Francisco 🌿 Definitely want to learn more! I dyed a silk scarf with Usnea, that turns orange with no mordant! Xanthoria was the coolest one, going from bright fuschia to dark purple and eventually blue in the sunlight 😍

For all the truffle lovers out there, as part of the 2026 North American Truffle Growers Association Annual Conference, being held this year in Santa Rosa, California from June 14–17, join Shannon Burch, President of the Truffle Association of British Columbia, alongside Aziz Turkoglu (University of Washington) for an immersive microscopy workshop exploring the fascinating world of truffles, fungal ecology, cultivation, and emerging opportunities in mycology.

Designed for mushroom enthusiasts, cultivators, foragers, and anyone curious about the science and future of truffle fungi, this class offers practical insights, expert instruction, and a deeper understanding of the expanding role of mycology in ecology, agriculture, and sustainable systems.

The microscopy workshop will be held at Santa Rosa Junior College on June 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lunch is included.

This workshop is typically only available to full-conference registrants, but due to lower attendance this year, we are opening registration to the broader mushroom and truffle community for the first time.

Special discounted registration price for MSSF members (12% discount off $450): $396

Thank you again for helping us spread the word to the mycological community.
