Chlo & Co Dance

Chlo & Co Dance Courtney King and Chloë Zimberg attended the University of San Francisco and met through the Performing Arts and Social Justice program.

Chlo & Co Dance engages and supports the ever-growing community of emerging and early professional artists by producing a biannual performance event, Drove, as well as a speaker series, Tabled. King and Zimberg founded Chlo & Co Dance in 2015. Chlo & Co Dance have had the pleasure of presenting work at The Contemporary Jewish Museum, ODC, Columbia City Theater, The Tenderloin Museum, the Joe Goode

Annex, the LEVYsalon, Little Boxes Theater, and SAFEhouse Arts. King and Zimberg have presented work in the National Q***r Arts Festival, West Wave Dance Festival, and the sjDANCEco Festival. Chlo & Co Dance is a fiscally sponsored project of FACT/SF. FACT/SF is a nonprofit contemporary dance company and service organization based in San Francisco, California. Chlo & Co Dance produces Drove, which takes place twice a year and brings together artists for an evening of curated work. Since the first iteration in May 2016, Drove has supported over twenty five artists and has been hosted in six venues and two cities. Tabled is the newest program by Chlo & Co Dance, launching in January and continuing through September 2020. Over a five panel series, thirty arts professionals from varying disciplines will discuss topics pertaining to the wellness of the Bay Area arts ecology.

We choose the themes of Drove from noticing what comes up repeatedly in conversation and what we feel surrounded by. Drove VI and VII both addressed temporality. The themes can be significant and insignificant as they attempt to encapsulate something, notice it, and move through it.
