Clinic by the Bay

Clinic by the Bay Clinic by the Bay is volunteer-powered free health clinic for uninsured adults in San Francisco We care for the whole person, not just the illness.

We offer free primary and preventive health care services in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Tagalog. Our services include: general and well woman exams (e.g., pap and pelvic exams, STD screening and treatment, mammograms); family planning; prescription assistance; individual and group health education and preventive care; mental health screenings and referrals; tuberculosis testing and treatment;

dental screenings; physical therapy and specialty referral. We also offer free, monthly health education workshops that are open to the community. Grounded in a philosophy of compassion and dignity, Clinic by the Bay offers patient visits that are longer than traditional primary care.

Meet our three amazing summer interns from Enterprise for Youth!

They’ve been supporting our team by welcoming patients at the front desk, creating social media content, organizing medical supplies, and acting as a translator. They’ve also had opportunities to go on field trips around San Francisco to learn more about the community we serve and the impact of our work.

We’re so grateful for their enthusiasm, hard work, and dedication this summer!

Jada and Gideon have been key players for Clinic by the Bay. The passion they’ve put into the clinic has highly impacted the effect we’ve had on our patients. Inside and outside the clinic, they have developed their skills and built relationships that created meaningful change for the clinic.

Reason #274959 we love this clinic: We’re a clinical training site and a spot for students who are applying for graduate programs in medicine. Santiago is a Medical Assistant extern born and raised in the Mission District, and Christian is a UCSB grad thinking about leaving his SF tech job to become a therapist. When Christian walked in the door to volunteer this week, Santi and Christian greeted each other like they had been friends their whole lives. The genuine warmth they have for each other is what makes the clinic a welcoming space for our volunteers and patients.
