अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नृत्य महोत्सव महासंघ (FIDAF) कार्यसमितिमा कोइराला ‘रामचन्द्र’ निर्वाचित

सीतल आचार्य काठमाडौँ, असोज २०, २०८३/अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय लोक संस्कृति तथा नृत्यको प्रतिष्ठित संस्था अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नृत्य महोत्सव महासंघ (Federation of International Dance Festivals - FIDAF) को हालै दक्षिण कोरियाको चेओनन (Cheonan) शहरमा सम्पन्न कार्यकारी समितिको बैठक तथा अधिवेशनबाट नेपालका आरसी कोइराला 'रामचन्द्र' पुनः कार्यसमिति सदस्य (Board of Director) मा निर्विरोध निर्वाचित भएका छन्। विश्वका ११२ राष्ट्रका १४२ जना प्रतिनिधि तथा पदाधिकारीहरूको सहभागिता रहेको सो महाधिवेशन तथा अधिवेशनमा भएको निर्वाचनबाट कोइराला चार वर्षे कार्यकालका लागि ३३ सदस्यीय कार्यकारी बोर्डमा सर्वसम्मत रूपमा निर्वाचित भएका हुन्। नेपाली कला र संस्कृतिका प्रवर्द्धक कोइराला एभरेष्ट नेपाल कल्चरल ग्रुपका संस्थापक अध्यक्ष तथा विगत २६ वर्षदेखि नेपालमा निरन्तर हरेक दुई-दुई वर्षमा आयोजना हुँदै आएको नेपालको एकमात्र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय लोक सांस्कृतिक मेलाका अध्यक्ष समेत रहेका कोइराला यसअघि पनि FIDAF को बोर्ड अफ डाइरेक्टर तथा एसियाली महाद्वीपका लागि उपाध्यक्ष थिए। उनले नेपाली कला, संस्कृति, परम्परा र लोक नृत्यलाई विश्वसामु चिनाउन ८५ भन्दा बढी देशहरूमा नेपालको सांस्कृतिक प्रतिनिधिमण्डलको नेतृत्व गर्दै अतुलनीय योगदान पुर्‍याएका छन्।

UNDO द्वारा नेपाल सरकारको विपद् राहत तथा पुनर्स्थापना कोषमा ५१ लाख ५५५ सहयोग हस्त्तान्तरण

युनाइटेड नेपाली डायस्पोरा अर्गनाइजेसन (UNDO) ले रसुवा तथा आसपासका क्षेत्रमा आएको विनाशकारी बाढीबाट प्रभावित नागरिक तथा समुदायको राहत, उद्धार र पुनर्स्थापनामा सहयोग पुर्‍याउने उद्देश्यले नेपाल सरकारको विपद् राहत तथा पुनर्स्थापना कोषमा रु. ५१,००,५५५ (एकाउन्न लाख पाँच सय पचपन्न रुपैयाँ) जम्मा गरेको छ। नेपाल सरकार, परराष्ट्र मन्त्रालयमा दर्ता रहेको ‘युनाइटेड नेपाली डायस्पोरा अर्गनाइजेशन’ (UNDO) ले नेपाल सरकारले राष्ट्रिय विपद् राहत तथा पुनर्स्थापनाका लागि गरेको आह्वानलाई समर्थन गर्दै पहिलो चरणमा उक्त रकम हस्तान्तरण गरेको हो। UNDO का सभापति सोनम लामाले परराष्ट्रमन्त्री माननीय शिशिर खनाललाई सेप्टेम्बर ११, २०२६ शुक्रबारका दिन एक औपचारिक पत्रमा सहित सो सहयोग रकम नेपाल सरकारको सम्बन्धित विपद् राहत तथा पुनर्स्थापना कोषमा जम्मा गरिएको भौचरसमेत पत्रसँगै परराष्ट्र मन्त्रीलाइ हस्तान्तरण गरेको हो। ...

Exercise increased caution in Nepal due to natural disasters. Some areas have increased risk. Read the entire Travel Advisory.

❗️Do not travel to:
The Rasuwagadhi-Timure-Syafrubesi area of Rasuwa district, including the Nepal-China border crossing, for any reason due to flood damage, disrupted transportation and communications, search-and-rescue and recovery operations, and the risk of additional flooding and landslides.
Advisory summary

Nepal regularly experiences earthquakes, floods, and landslides. Earthquakes can happen suddenly with little warning, including in the Kathmandu Valley.

During the monsoon season from June to September, heavy rain can cause flash floods and landslides. These can block roads, damage buildings, and make it hard to get help in an emergency.

Emergency services
🔶Medical services have limited ability to handle regular and emergency care. Review the Health section of the Travel Guidance on this page for more information.
🔶Hospitals in Kathmandu are usually better than in other areas, but they can be crowded, may lack some equipment or medicines, and often ask that you pay before treatment. 🔶Medical treatment of foreigners is not paid for by the Government of Nepal.
🔶Bring the medicines you need, get travel health insurance that covers medical evacuation, and understand you might need to go to another country for serious treatment.

Risks in specific areas

❗️Level: 4 - Do not travel
🔺Do not travel to the Rasuwagadhi-Timure-Syafrubesi area of Rasuwa district, including the Nepal-China border crossing, due to dangerous conditions following the major flash flood and landslide on August 26, 2026.
🔺The affected area includes communities along the Bhote Koshi, Trishuli, and Narayani rivers.
🔺Stay away from riverbanks, low-lying areas, damaged bridges, and unstable slopes. Follow evacuation orders and safety instructions from Nepali authorities. Do not enter the disaster area independently to search for a missing person. Do not travel to the disaster area for any reason.

🔶Check local media for breaking news. Be prepared to adjust your plans.
🔶Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to get important updates and alerts from the U.S. embassy or consulate. Enrolling helps the U.S. embassy or consulate contact you or your emergency contact in an emergency.
🔶Review the Country Security Report for Nepal.
🔶Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website for the latest Travel Health Information for Nepal.
🔶Whether you’re a first time or frequent traveler, use the International Travel Checklist.
🔶We highly recommend that you buy travel insurance before you travel. Check with your travel insurance provider about evacuation assistance, medical insurance, and trip cancelation coverage.

Nepal does not need sympathy; Nepal demands climate justice: Dr. Karki

I have proposed AFPPD to make a major declaration and call upon parliamentarians of all member countries to make climate change and climate justice a major agenda in their respective national parliaments. I had the opportunity to represent Nepal at the AFPPD (Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development) conference in Malaysia and raise Nepal’s voice on the global climate crisis. STAY SAFE AND STAY VIGILANT
We are deeply saddened and concerned by the devastating flooding in Betrawati, Rasuwa, Nepal, the hometown of our colleague Mr. Yogesh Adi, Deputy Press Coordinator of UNDO International.
The flood has submerged parts of the community, with dozens of people reportedly missing. Mr. Adi’s three-story family home has also been severely inundated, with floodwaters reportedly reaching up to the rooftop watchtower.
At this difficult and uncertain time, we urge Mr. Adi, his family, and everyone in the affected communities to stay safe and remain vigilant.
We pray for the safety and well-being of all those affected by this devastating flood, for the safe return of those who are missing, and for strength and resilience for the families and communities facing this disaster. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and all the people of Rasuwa.
