RAMA Blueprints presents Tres Generacíones/3 Voices live podcast series on Thursday, August 27 at 6:30 PM at the Brava Women for the Arts' Cabaret in San Francisco's Mission District.

Anchored in the spirit of "Past, Present, and Future," the evening explores how historical artivism and community-based organizations laid the groundwork for today's grassroots movements, non-profit sustainability, and cultural preservation efforts. Join us for a lively intergenerational dialogue among local movement leaders, artists, and organizers who have navigated treacherous fiscal challenges, shifting political climates, and complex external pressures.

Founded in 2021, RAMA Blueprints is the premier podcast documenting the history of the Real Alternatives Program (RAP) in San Francisco (1967–2003) and its ongoing impact on community empowerment. [ENG/ESP] Last Friday, June 19, we commemorated Juneteenth, the day that marks the legal end of slavery in the United States.

For more than two centuries, millions of African people were violently torn from their homelands, chained, and forced onto ships for the deadly Middle Passage. Many did not survive the horrific journey across the ocean. Those who did arrive here were already enslaved — stripped of everything, including their freedom.

More than 160 years later, the legacy of slavery is still present — in the wealth gap, in mass incarceration, and in the ongoing criminalization of Black communities.

At Instituto Familiar de la Raza, we stand with the Black communities and demand reparations. Their fight for freedom is our fight too, and we commit to standing by their side in the struggle for their liberation.

We believe reparations — economic, political, and cultural — are necessary to address the harm caused by slavery and structural racism. Not as a gesture, but as an act of justice.

Juneteenth reminds us that true freedom is not complete until it includes everyone.

El pasado viernes 19 de junio conmemoramos Juneteenth, el día que marca el fin legal de la esclavitud en Estados Unidos.

Durante más de dos siglos, millones de personas africanas fueron arrancadas violentamente de sus tierras, encadenadas y forzadas a cruzar el océano en el Mortal Middle Passage. Muchas no sobrevivieron a ese viaje; quienes sí llegaron, lo hicieron ya esclavizadas, despojadas de todo, incluso de su libertad.

Más de 160 años después, el legado de la esclavitud sigue presente: en la brecha de riqueza, en el encarcelamiento masivo y en la criminalización constante de las comunidades negras.

En Instituto Familiar de la Raza, nos solidarizamos con las comunidades negras y exigimos reparaciones del daño causado. Su lucha por la libertad también es nuestra lucha, y en solidaridad caminamos a su lado en la defensa de su liberación.

Creemos que las reparaciones —económicas, políticas y culturales— son necesarias para enfrentar el daño causado por la esclavitud y el racismo estructural, no como un gesto simbólico, sino como un acto de justicia.

Juneteenth nos recuerda que la verdadera libertad no está completa hasta que nos incluya a todas y todos.

Mental Health Awareness may have ended, but we want to highlight what the Sana Sana Program was up to during May / Mental Health Awareness Month.

For the Sana Sana Program, they know that children's mental health goes hand in hand with adult mental health. Investing in the well-being of adults (parents, educators, or support staff) yields positive outcomes in children's lives and mental health.

During May, Sana Sana's mental health consultants facilitated a space for parents to build collective wisdom around Kinder Transition, weaving together topics like safety, co-regulation, and developmental milestones. The team got creative, adding movement, dance, and even a puppet show because we must never forget the importance of play!

Additionally, consultants took a group of 13 family childcare educators to Santa Cruz for a retreat. There, they engaged in a series of activities and conversations that fostered reflection, connection, and wellness.
