Venesia's Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk 2012

Venesia's Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk 2012 Please support me in my journey on an 18 mile walk through the streets of San Francisco in June for the Out of the Darkness Overnight.

Donations gladly accepted, as is support of any kind! Please feel free to share this with anyone who may be interested. I will be walking in the Out of the Darkness Overnight, San Francisco, in June. It is an 18 mile walk through the streets of San Franscisco to raise awareness for su***de and prevention. I participated in the San Francisco Walk before and had an amazing experience; just last year

, I walked through the streets of New York. I have lost both parents, numerous family members and friends to su***de. One of the major problems is that nobody talks about it. A main goal of the AFSP is to raise awareness and get people talking. I wholeheartedly support this cause and am asking for your support. Please consider donating (any amount) to my Donor Drive page. I have pledged to raise $3000 by June; anything and everything helps. If you are interested in participating, there are many opportunities. Please visit the overnight.org if you would like more info.

Five years ago today, my Husband lost his best friend, Jamil, to su***de. Having been through that loss multiple times before myself, it was so hard to watch him heal knowing there was only so much that I could do for him. It was a huge loss for him and his friends; they try as often as they can to remember all the good things about him, and it helps to ease the pain a little.

Every 15 minutes someone is lost to su***de. Whether they suffer from addiction, depression, or any other mental illness, it is up to us to bring Su***de out of the darkness. If you have ever wanted to stand up and do something about it, now is your chance. Register for the Overnight on June 9th in San Francisco.

This will be my third year walking in the Overnight. I can't even begin to tell you how it has helped me in my healing process and what an amazing journey it has been.

Please visit http://theovernight.donordrive.com to read about the walk and all of the efforts the AFSP is involved in preventing and educating about su***de.

Hey everybody - say hi to our latest Team of the Week, Team Diane Lynn. Their captain, Allysa, is a student at The Johns Hopkins University. She was brave enough to write about her experience on a school blog here. Have a look.

Around a month ago in August, my beautiful mother passed away. She had been battling severe depression and anxiety for almost a year and could no longer bear the burdens of life. She was truly the most beautiful person I’ve ever known and I miss her every day.
