Peace Day Global Broadcast
The broadcasts, now in their six year, promote the vitally important work of the United Nations, its humanitarian agencies, and organizations around the world working for peace, the environment, human rights, and social and economic justice. In 2012, the broadcast streamed live events from 30 locations in 23 countries. The broadcast also featured personal messages of peace from many prominent people including: Michael Douglas, Dr. Jane Goodall, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Marianne Williamson, Edward James Olmos, Rosanne Barr, Ed Asner, Diane Ladd, Peter Coyote, Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Wangari Maathai, Olympian, Marilyn King and others. Unity Foundation seeks to further develop the "Peace Day" Global Broadcast in the areas of purchasing technical equipment, upgrading the broadcast studios, further developing the cloud technology, promotion of the broadcast and outreach to additional organizations around the world to train them in the technology to live stream their special events for the UN International Day of Peace. The purpose is to give major focus to the UN International Day of Peace though the utilization of the latest communications technology; and to bring together thousands of activist organizations around the world to promote their activities to the world community on the occasion of the UN International Day of Peace. http://www.peacedayglobalbroadcast.org/
Positive Spin
Unity Foundation also wants to develop "Positive Spin" by outreaching to activist organizations working for peace, the environment, human rights, and social and economic justice from around the world to offer them free airtime to promote their important work.We also have a need to upgrade equipment for the program, mailing costs, and poduction expenses.
