One Found Sound

One Found Sound One Found Sound is a democratic orchestra at the forefront of equitable and barrier-free music. And don’t forget to stick around and say hi after our shows!

Our Mission

One Found Sound is a democratic orchestra at the forefront of equitable and barrier-free music. The Bay Area’s only conductorless, musician-run orchestra, we define the orchestra as a space for inclusion and inspiration. We realize this goal through innovative performances, artistic collaborations, educational workshops, and new music initiatives that support the annual creation of wo

rks by diverse peoples. Our Shows

One Found Sound performs in unexpected spaces where you are invited to sit closely and experience the music just as it inspires you. OFS always performs without a stage and without a conductor, and our live shows are filled with immersive visual experiences that add to the twists, turns, and surprises that the music has in store for you. Without the traditional barriers of the concert hall, we are able to share incredible music with you closely and personally. Every concert includes a majority of music by composers identifying as Black, Indigenous, Latina and Latino, Asian, Pacific Islander, or a person of color. Operating without a conductor or single artistic director, our creative vision is placed entirely in the hands of our artists: all artistic decisions—from the length of a single note to our programming each season—are made democratically to bring you exciting and truly collaborative performances. Our Vision

One Found Sound is dedicated to the future of classical music and the impact it can have to change our world for the better. We are powered by the unifying values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and believe that music has the power to bring people together and create a meaningful and lasting impact on our world. We strive to live up to our commitment by developing systems for being conscious of bias during the hiring, promoting, and evaluation process of our leadership, musicians, and board of directors. One Found Sound recognizes the need to expand our knowledge of the classical cannon to include works by diverse composers. We commit to creating meaningful programming that expresses the unifying value we place on the contributions of the diverse peoples that make up our community. onefoundsound.org

🎻 Support Our Musicians in 2026
There is no denying it: our musicians are extraordinary.
As the Bay Area’s only democratic, musician-led orchestra, One Found Sound relies on the creativity, leadership, and artistic commitment of every performer on our stage. Working without a conductor, our musicians collaborate to shape every phrase, every gesture, and every performance. Their artistry is what makes OFS unique.

Your support helps us:
-Pay our musicians for rehearsals and performances
-Sustain our democratic artistic model
-Keep concerts accessible and community-centered
-Bring innovative programming to San Francisco

Every gift, no matter the size, helps our musicians continue to create powerful, barrier-free music for our entire community.
