International Orange Chorale of San Francisco The International Orange Chorale of San Francisco (IOCSF) is an all-volunteer chamber choir devoted For additional information, please visit www.iocsf.org.

The International Orange Chorale of San Francisco (IOCSF), led by Artistic Director Zane Fiala, was founded in 2003 and is named after the color of the Golden Gate Bridge. Recipient of the 2011 Chorus America / ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, IOCSF is an auditioned volunteer-based chamber choir devoted to performing established repertoire of all periods, with particular attention to conte

mporary music including newly commissioned works by promising and established composers. To date, IOCSF has performed world premieres of twenty-five choral works and has also presented regional premieres of four works including Milton Babbitt’s Music for the Mass, Thomas Ades’ Fayrfax Carol, and the 2008 revision of Jake Heggie’s Faith Disquiet. In 2011, IOCSF released "Peace," by Aaron Pike, the first publication in a new choral music publishing series partnership with Santa Barbara Music. IOCSF has collaborated with Frederica von Stade, Zheng Cao, Jake Heggie, and Nicole Folland; appeared as part of the Noontime Concert Series at Old St. Mary’s Church and the Noe Valley Chamber Music Series in San Francisco; performed in collaboration with the Yale Glee Club at Grace Cathedral; participated in the Haiti Earthquake Relief Concert at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland; and served as a Featured Ensemble, giving both performances and master classes at the 2011 Chorus America National Conference. Since its inception, the group has been committed to performing at least four free concerts a year featuring challenging and imaginative a cappella choral programming. The group also provides a community where young adult singers with extensive musical backgrounds can come together to create music of high artistic standards with their peers.

Calling all composers: Submit your scores for the First Press, the first phase of our Freshly Squeezed new music program. Have a 3-5 a ca****la unperformed work? Submit it by July 15 to iocsf.org/freshly-squeezed for consideration. Work proposals and drafts are also accepted! One winning composition will be selected to premiere on IOCSF’s spring 2027 concert, with an award and guidance from our music committee.
