As Affordable Housing Month comes to a close, we want to say something simple: thank you for paying attention.

The housing crisis doesn't make headlines every day. But for the millions of families living it β€” it's every day. Your awareness, your care, and your willingness to share makes a real difference in building the public will to change things.

Here's what you can do before the month ends:

βœ… Make a gift to Episcopal Impact Fund
βœ… Share this post with your congregation or community
βœ… Ask your church leadership about faith-aligned investing
βœ… Write to your local representative about affordable housing in your area

Every action, no matter how small, adds up. Thank you for being part of this community.

The Episcopal Church has long believed that justice is not just a political concept β€” it is a spiritual imperative.

When we talk about affordable housing, we are talking about one of the most fundamental expressions of that imperative: the belief that every human being, made in the image of God, deserves shelter, stability, and dignity.

Episcopal Impact Fund was created to put that belief into practice β€” to ensure that the financial resources of the Episcopal community are directed toward outcomes that reflect our deepest values.

This Affordable Housing Month, we invite you to pray, to learn, and to act. Whether that means sharing this post, exploring our work, or having a conversation in your congregation β€” every action matters.

What is your faith community already doing around housing? We'd love to hear from you in the comments.

This week, we want to share the story behind the numbers.

Housing data tells us how widespread the crisis is. But what data can't fully capture is what it feels like to finally have a stable place to call home β€” or what it costs a family, spiritually and emotionally, not to have one.

Episcopal Impact Fund exists at the intersection of faith and funding. We work to direct capital toward affordable housing that center the dignity and wellbeing of the people who live in them.

This Affordable Housing Month, we're asking: What does home mean to you?

Share in the comments β€” and consider sharing this post with someone who needs to hear that this issue matters.

May is Affordable Housing Month β€” and we're spending it talking about one of the most urgent justice issues of our time.

Nearly half of all renters in the United States are considered cost-burdened, paying more than 30% of their income just to keep a roof over their heads. In many cities, the situation is even more dire β€” working families, seniors, and people with disabilities face the very real threat of losing stable housing every single month.

At Episcopal Impact Fund, our work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a safe, stable, and dignified place to call home. That conviction comes from our principles β€” and from the communities we serve.

This month, we'll be sharing stories, data, and actions you can take. We're so glad you're here.

πŸ‘‡ Tell us in the comments: How has housing affordability affected someone you know?

Last Thursday, our volunteers showed up with full hearts and full pots 🍲 β€” and together we made it happen.

Thank you to everyone who cooked, delivered, and served meals alongside us at our Spring Volunteer Day at Christ Episcopal Church in Alameda (Christ Episcopal Church, Alameda, CA ). From home kitchens to the dinner table, your generosity helped ensure 20+ unhoused neighbors had a nourishing meal and a warm, welcoming place to gather.
