20 июня 2026 года при кафедральном соборе в честь иконы Божией Матери «Всех скорбящих Радости» в Сан-Франциско состоялось освящение нового общественного центра во имя святителя Иоанна Шанхайского и Сан-Францисского, после которого прошел День открытых дверей.
Чин освящения совершил Преосвященнейший Петр, епископ Сиэтлийский, в сослужении духовенства кафедрального собора.
Песнопения исполнил хор Кафедрального собора под управлением Владимира Красовского.
После освящения гости смогли познакомиться с новым зданием, осмотреть его помещения и узнать о планах развития приходской жизни. Новый общественный центр станет местом проведения образовательных, молодежных, миссионерских, культурных мероприятий, а также различных встреч православной общины.
День открытых дверей прошел в теплой и радостной атмосфере общения. Для гостей были организованы экскурсии по зданию и предложено легкое угощение.
Да благословит Господь этот новый центр, чтобы он многие годы служил на благо Святой Церкви и всех, кто будет переступать его порог.
Blessing of the New St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco Community Center
On June 20, 2026, the Holy Virgin Cathedral “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in San Francisco celebrated the blessing of the new St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco Richmond Community Center, followed by an Open House.
The service of blessing was officiated by His Grace Bishop Peter of Seattle, concelebrating with the clergy of the Holy Virgin Cathedral.
The liturgical hymns were sung by the Holy Virgin Cathedral Choir under the direction of Vladimir Krassovsky.
Following the service, parishioners and visitors were invited to tour the new facility, learn about its purpose, and hear about plans for future parish life. The new community center will serve as a home for educational, youth, missionary, cultural, and fellowship activities, supporting the growing ministry of the cathedral parish.
The Open House provided an opportunity for fellowship, guided tours of the building, and light refreshments for all attendees.
May the Lord bless this new center and grant that it serve the Church and the faithful for many years to come.

С благословения архиепископа Кирилла в кафедральном соборе еженедельные будничные литургии по пятницам, по миссионерским соображениям, будут совершаться на английском языке.

With the blessing of Archbishop Kyrill, the weekly Friday Liturgies at Holy Virgin Cathedral will be served in English.

Празднование памяти иже во святых отца нашего Иоанна, Шанхайского и Сан-Францисского чудотворца и 60-летие его блаженной кончины, в этом году (всегда, в ближайшую субботу к 2 июля) будет отмечаться в субботу 4 июля. Расписание Свято-Иоанновских дней ниже:

Четверг 2 июля

5 ч. веч. - Будничные вечерня и утреня.

7 ч. веч. - Перенесение раки с мощами св. Иоанна в середину собора и акафист.

Пятница 3 июля

8 ч. утра - Будничная литургия.

С 5 ч. веч. - Исповедь.

6 веч. - Встреча Курско-Коренной чудотворной иконы Божией Матери и всенощное бдение.

Суббота 4 июля

Праздник св. Иоанна, Шанхайского и Сан-Францисского чудотворца

9 ч. утра - Встреча Первоиерарха Русской Православной Церкви заграницей, Высокопреосвященнейшего митрополита Николая, литургия, крестный ход с молебным пением, общая праздничная трапеза.


St. John's 2026 Feastday Schedule
This year the celebration of the feast of St. John, Wonderworker of Shanghai and San Francisco and the 60th anniversary of his blessed repose, falls on Saturday, July 4 (always on the Saturday closest to July 2). Below is the St. John Days schedule:

Thursday, July 2

5 pm - Daily Vespers and Matins

7 pm - Transfer of reliquary to center of the cathedral and Akathist.

Friday, July 3

8 am - Daily Divine Liturgy.

5 pm - Confessions begin.

6 pm - Greeting of the Kursk-Root Miraculous Icon of the Theotokos and St. John Vigil.

Saturday, July 4

Feastday of St. John, Shanghai and San Francisco, the Wonderworker

9 am - Greeting of the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas, Liturgy, procession and festal common meal.

His Eminence, Archbishop Kyrill’s condition has improved, having been stabilized after treatment. God-willing, pending a couple of more tests, he will be discharged in the near future. Vladyka Kyrill is sincerely thankful to all for the prayers and messages of support and asks for continued prayers since his condition is ongoing.

Состояние Его Высокопреосвященство Архиепископа Кирилла улучшилось. Оно стабилизировалось, и, дай Бог, после ещe нескольких анализов он будет вскоре выписан. Он искренне благодарен всем за молитвы и слова поддержки. А просит продолжать молиться о нём, поскольку его состояние ещё не урегулировалось окончательно.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, His Eminence KYRILL, Archbishop of San Francisco and Western America, underwent a heart ablation.

His Eminence was feeling well after the procedure until late last night, when at 1:00 AM this morning, he was admitted to the emergency ward with complications.

Archbishop Kyrill is requesting the prayers of the faithful of the Western American Diocese and beyond for his health and recovery.

His Eminence was feeling well after the procedure until late last night, when at 1:00 AM this morning, he was admitted to the emergency ward with complications.

Высокопреосвященнейший Кирилл, архиепископ Сан-Францисский и Западно-Американский, совершил Божественную литургию в Кафедральном соборе Пресвятой Богородицы «Всех скорбящих Радость».
Его Высокопреосвященству сослужило духовенство собора.
Песнопения исполнил хор кафедрального собора под управлением Владимира Красовского.
После Божественной литургии Высокопреосвященнейший владыка совершил Великую вечерню, во время которой были прочитаны особые коленопреклоненные молитвы святителя Василия Великого.

On May 31, 2026, on the Feast of the Holy Trinity (Pentecost),
His Eminence Kyrill, Archbishop of San Francisco and Western America, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the “Joy of All Who Sorrow” Cathedral of the Mother of God.

Concelebrating with His Eminence was the cathedral clergy.

The hymns were sung by the cathedral choir under the direction of Vladimir Krassovsky.

Following the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence celebrated Great Vespers, during which the special kneeling prayers of St. Basil the Great were read.

On May 30, 2026, on the eve of the Feast of the Holy Trinity (Pentecost), His Eminence Kyrill, Archbishop of San Francisco and Western America, celebrated the All-Night Vigil at the Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow.”

His Eminence was concelebrated by the clergy of the cathedral.

The hymns were sung by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Vladimir Krassovsky.

With the blessing of His Eminence, Archbishop Kyrill, the parish has officially bought the building located at 6221 Geary Boulevard. This is a rare and historic opportunity right here in the Richmond District, directly across the street from the Cathedral. Buying this building ensures our community has the extra space we need to grow and thrive for generations to come. The new 6221 building takes the place of the old parking lot building project, turning it into a strong, income-producing cornerstone that supports our work and honors the community.
