Liam O Mochan's "Abode" kicks off the film festival final day at 3.30pm on Saturday Sept 19th - at Delancey Street Theatre.

'ABODE’ is a feature film with five stories connected by the theme of home and what it means to the different characters in the film. Whether the characters are living in mansions, on the street, in a big city, suburbia or in the countryside, home has an importance and a different meaning for each of them. In ABODE 'everyone wants to belong somewhere'. The 5 stories share actors but not characters, they are a mix of drama and comedy, and all inspired by true stories. ‘ABODE’ is similar to films like ‘Paris J'taime’ and ‘Short Cuts’.

The Siege of Paradise contrasts the lives of 3,000 local residents against the backdrop of four million summer tourists, capturing a paradise under pressure in the age of social media tourism. The documentary captures six lives playing out in parallel, offering a humorous and observant look at a small community facing the realities of modern social media tourism. SFIF will co-present, "Celtic Utopia" at the upcoming 25th Annual San Francisco Documentary Festival.
Celtic Utopia tells the story of a new Ireland and its vibrant music scene, but also that of a post-colonial society wrestling with its heritage. A society where folk music carries both the oppression of the past and the dream of a bright future. The Irish folk music renaissance sees artists coming from punk, hip-hop, and beyond, rediscovering an ancient tradition and taking it in unexpected directions.
