Here at the USO at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), we love welcoming back returning guests and supporters alike.

Last year, Girl Scouts of Northern California Troop 62539 from San Bruno, California visited the USO and donated 20 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. The troop had a special idea in mind. They wanted the cookies to go directly to active-duty service members. An assembly line was set up to create care bags that included the cookies and other useful items, and all 20 bags were distributed to service members visiting our Center.

The troop had such a meaningful experience that they returned again this year. This time, each Girl Scout designed her own care bag and filled it with useful items donated to the USO. 🎒❤️

What is truly special is the troop sold an incredible 2,627 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies this year. As a troop, they voted to send a $300 donation to the USO on behalf of USO Northern California in support of our Center. 🍪💙

Officers from the San Francisco Police Department K9 Unit stopped by with four of their dogs and handlers. Officer Ortiz gave a presentation to the girls and handed out SFPD memorabilia. 🐕‍🦺🚔 Afterward, the girls were treated to Chick-fil-A Millbrae Station generously donated to the USO.

Having supporters, donors, volunteers, and community agencies all come together helped create a memorable experience for the girls and the service members visiting our Center.

Thank you to Troop 62539 and everyone who helped make this day possible through their generosity, teamwork, and support of our military community. 🇺🇸

Thank you to the continuous donations from Chick-fil-A at Chick-fil-A Millbrae Station . The USO at SFO held its first Coast Guard Chick-fil-A BBQ! 🍗🍉🇺🇸

Today, members of the San Francisco Coast Guard Air Station gathered to say goodbye to fellow members leaving for other duty stations, while enjoying great food, connection, laughs, and even a watermelon-eating contest! 🍉👏

Serving up our Coasties today were volunteers Lilah, Martha, Betty, and Maria. ❤️

No need to wait for a Chick-fil-A BBQ to enjoy what the USO at SFO has to offer. Located in the International Terminal at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), the USO welcomes Active Duty, Reserve, and retired military members 365 days a year from 7:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. Guests can relax, recharge, enjoy snacks and beverages, and connect with others. ✈️☕🍪

Today, we pause to celebrate all the incredible mothers, mother figures, and caregivers who bring care, strength, and kindness into every space they touch. At USO San Francisco International Airport (SFO), that spirit is especially felt through our volunteers who show up with heart ❤️, dedication, and steady support for our service members and travelers.

A special thank you to our mom volunteers on shift today, Mary and Betty 💐. Your time, your kindness, and the way you help create a welcoming space for those passing through our Center truly make a difference. We are grateful for the steady care you bring to every shift.

We also hold our Blue Star Moms in our hearts today 💙. We are grateful to have 10 Blue Star Moms who volunteer with us, bringing strength, understanding, and quiet resilience to our Center. Your presence is deeply appreciated, especially on a day that carries so much meaning.

To all mothers, moms, grandmothers, and mother figures in our USO family, thank you for all you do 🌷. You make our Center warmer, stronger, and more compassionate every day.

It is always a nice surprise when another USO team member decides to stop by and visit our center!
We had the pleasure of welcoming Erika, the Center Operations Manager for the USO Guam at Tumon Bay, during her visit to San Francisco International Airport (SFO)we shared how our team opened the center at 4 a.m. last year to welcome the Guam Army National Guard on their return trip home.
Pictured with Erika are two of our wonderful volunteers, Dave and Barby Albright, one of our five married volunteer couples who serve together at our center.
We are also proud to share that our center was the first permanent USO located inside an airport terminal, opening on June 24, 1966. As we approach our 60th birthday, moments like these remind us how special the USO connection is across the world. 🇺🇸✈️
