Thank you Fred and the Fred T. Korematsu Institute for Civil Rights and Education.

Today we honor Fred Korematsu, a civil rights hero.

In 1942, Fred refused to go to the U.S. government's prison camps for Japanese Americans. After he was arrested and convicted of defying the government's order, he appealed his case all the way to the Supreme Court.

Please see information below on an event being held by Asian American Women Artists Association that will be taking place in the Tides Converge Gallery spaces and corridors this Saturday and Sunday!

"A meeting place for friends, a quick stop to support and shop for gifts for all, this two-day holiday fundraising event is a festive opportunity for friends and supporters to join AAWAA in support of community and highlighting the arts, craft, and creativity of Asian American women. This sliding-scale admission event will include guest speakers, music, a silent auction, bake sale, and attendees from various arts and AA community organizations. As we continue to look for new ways to connect to build our membership, community and funding, we hope you’ll join us in the festivities for this end-of-year event.

Bring friends, family and loved ones!
We hope to see you there!"

Hi, Tides Converge SF Community!

Tides has continued to pilot a coworking program where individual members have access to Tides’ collaborative workspace and all of our great community amenities through a monthly membership program.

Announced a little over one year ago, this coworking program is meant to provide an alternative workspace option for staff of small nonprofits or social enterprises (or remote staff of larger organizations) whose work schedule, travel demands, or team size make a permanent private office unnecessary or impractical, or are on waitlists for private offices and need an intermediate solution.

We currently have ten fantastic members and continue to accept applications on a rolling basis.

Know of a colleague or organization/mission-aligned social enterprise that might be a good fit for our coworking program? They can check out our new Collaborative Spaces website (https://www.tides.org/impact-partners/collaborative-workspaces/).

Tides provides nonprofits and social enterprises with affordable workspace and administrative services, supporting dynamic communities on both coasts.

Boys to Men Mentoring San Francisco/Alameda Counties - a non-profit organization with 20 years of experience supporting teenagers in their transition into adulthood is currently being rolled out in schools across the San Francisco Bay Area.
To build a body of mentors who are prepared to go into schools and facilitate weekly circles of teenagers, they are hosting Mentor Facilitation Trainings.
This day-long workshop is designed to get you in touch with your own teenage years so you may be able to put yourself in the shoes of those you are mentoring.
Additionally, there will be space to learn more about Boys to Men and Girls to Women and discover your next steps to get involved with this blossoming effort.
The training will be facilitated by Stefan Hermann, founder of Boys to Men and Girls to Women chapters in South Africa, Europe, UK and Santa Barbara.
