What’s been happening at Sharon Art Studio this week? A little bit of everything.

Painting, drawing, ceramics, jewelry and metal arts. We've been playing and experimenting because next week is the last week of summer session.

One of our favorite things about the studio is seeing so many different materials, techniques and ideas being explored under one roof.

From hand-building, to throwing on the wheel, to trimming, our teens and tweens are getting hands-on with clay during Ceramics Summer Camp.
Hand-building is one of the oldest ceramics techniques, using just your hands and simple tools to shape clay into something unique. We love watching our young artists explore these timeless skills while creating pieces that are completely their own. ✨

Cyanotypes! Cyanotypes are a photographic printing process invented in 1842. The process involves laying items on photo sensitive paper, exposing it to light, then rinsing to stop the chemical reaction. Let’s talk sand casting! Sand casting is a process of metal forming. Molten metal is poured into a sand mold. After the metal cools the sand is broken away to produce the finished product! This process, as well as other professional jewelry making techniques, are taught to our teens and tweens during the Jewelry & Metal Working summer camp classes.

Local artist Stacy McClanahan aka “Fog Den” is joining us this August to teach a special themed painting workshop: “Tropical Retreat” on Friday, August 14th. 🌋 🏝️ 🌺 🎨 We invite you to join Stacy for an evening of relaxing fun painting a Hawaiian inspired landscape. Learn how to work on black canvas to add mystery and dreamy vibes to your art! Your work will be on a canvas that can be hung with or without a frame.
