Today is the 50th Anniversary of ! “As turns 50, equity is still elusive for 3.4 million girls playing high school sports.”
This 4-month Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism / Howard Center at University of Maryland investigation shows how the policy is failing countless girls in high schools across the country.
The report highlights some of the work of our Fair Play program and includes interviews with current and former Legal Aid at Work attorneys, Elizabeth Kristen and Kim Turner, and some of LAAW’s brave clients.

“We still estimate that the majority of schools are likely out of compliance with the law,” said Sarah Axelson, vice president of advocacy at the Women's Sports Foundation.
