๐Ÿ“ข Calling all NorCal Kakehashi Project Alumni! ๐Ÿ“ข

Join us and Rev. Kawahatsu at the San Francisco JACL HQ on Saturday, March 30th at 11 AM for a ๐Ÿ–Œ Shodo (Japanese calligraphy) class and a Kakehashi-inspired potluck! The purpose of the event is to help attendees deepen their connection to their Japanese heritage and to continue conversations about ways to engage in the Japanese American community.

There will be a $10 material fee per person to participate and we kindly ask that each attendee bring at least one dish to share (please include a note with the ingredients). If possible, try to incorporate an ingredient that reminds you of one of the places you visited during your Kakehashi trip!

The fee will be collected at the door through cash or Venmo.

MAKE A PLAN TO VOTE MARCH 5th

We're slated to have a historic low turnout across California and in San Jose one of the lowest voter turnouts historically. Only about 7% of our city, county and the state have turned in their ballots, with only 8 days of voting remaining!

read here (https://capitolweekly.net/ca120-primary-could-have-historically-low-turnout/)

Of voters who have already voted, twice as many are 65+ as those aged 18-34; only 4% of registered Latino voters have casted a ballot, and only 7% of Asian-Americans.

We believe that voting is one important way that we can achieve change. Use the resources and information linked to learn what your voting rights are and how to vote so we can demand a government that works for our communities.
