We do amazing work empowering our families here in San Francisco, and we want YOU to join our team! The Samoan Community Development Center (SCDC) is officially looking for a dedicated, empathetic Family Care Coordinator to walk hand-in-hand with our local families.
If you have a heart for service and want to make a real, lasting impact by connecting families to vital resources, and community support, this invitation is for you!

You’re Invited: Strong Starts Community Engagement Session

You are warmly invited to participate in a Strong Starts Community Engagement Session focused on the experiences, strengths, and priorities of the Native/Indigenous and/or Samoan communities.

The San Francisco’s Strong Starts Initiative is a collaborative effort to improve maternal, child, and family well-being. Your voice and lived experience are essential to ensuring that this work reflects the needs and priorities of our communities.

The Native/Indigenous community session will be facilitated by Indigenous Justice, and the Samoan community session will be facilitated by the Samoan Community Development Center, creating a culturally grounded space for participants to share their perspectives, experiences, and recommendations. City staff will be present to provide a brief overview of the initiative, listen, and document community feedback to help inform future planning and implementation.

Please see the attached flyers below for the date, time, location, and registration information. These sessions will be held virtually.

We encourage you to share this invitation with others in your community who may be interested in participating. We look forward to engaging in meaningful conversation together.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Staff, and the Youth of SCDC, WE are excited to celebrate our 30th Year of Pacific Islander Youth Alliance (PIYA) on July 30, 2026.

Someone said to me, Dream Big. Not only did I dream big for myself, I dreamed big for our youth and our community. WE are elated to announce that this years celebration will be at the Chase Center in San Francisco..

Here at SCDC, we are to create a “safe space” for your children, to be children. We are excited to celebrate with you and your family, as we witness our children sing, dance to the beat of their identity and culture. Fa’afetai, Fa’afetai, Fa’afetai.
