"Growing up, I saw many of my neighbors' struggle with rising housing costs, housing displacement, and food insecurity. I saw firsthand how inequality and limited opportunities affected the people around me. At UC Berkeley, I learned more about the systems behind those challenges. This made me want to be part of an organization like UWBA because it focuses on addressing the root causes of poverty. I wanted a chance to learn from that work while also contributing my own experiences and skills I've developed. "

"I would tell a four-year-old that UWBA helps people by connecting them with kind people, helpful programs, and new opportunities. I will support an event that helps young people explore different careers and give them the confidence and resources to plan for their future."
