The Playwrights' Center of San Francisco

The Playwrights' Center of San Francisco PCSF was established in 1980 as a forum for playwrights to get together and hear their work read.

The mission of the The Playwrights' Center of San Francisco is to encourage and develop local playwrights and promote script writing, audience development, and related arts. Over the last 30 years it has grown to a membership organization that offers a number of successful programs that offer support and feedback to new and experienced playwrights alike and provides opportunities for actors and di

rectors as well. Most of the playwrights in the organization have had their work produced around the country and in some cases the world. The focus at PCSF is to help playwrights learn the critical skills necessary to hone their craft, while providing an open, semi-formal but relaxed and friendly environment to develop new local work.

PCSF Short Play Festival - Announcing the First Two Winning Plays

The Audiences Have Spoken: Winning Plays of Groups 1 and 2

Hello, everyone-

Many thanks to all of you who participated in, and/or watched the first ten plays in the Short Play Festival. The plays were very well received by the audiences, as evidenced by the voting results, which didn't show wide variations in the number of votes for plays within a Group.

We also had great turnouts for both Groups ... with audience votes numbering between 100 and 150 for each Group.

and now for the winners ...

Group 1 - "Something Grand," written by Homeira Elder, directed by Rae Cofsky and featuring Mariah Moore and Blake Weaver.

Group 2 - "What Secret?," written by Sue Schleifer, directed by Wm. Diedrick Razo, and featuring Don Hardwick, Nicole Martin and Luna Randolf.

Heartiest congratulations to the playwrights, directors and actors of the two winning plays. These plays, along with the other four winning plays from the next four Groups, will be performed at the BATS Theatre in Fort Mason on the afternoon of October 27th. Directors and actors from the Zoom presentations will be asked to reprise their roles for the live performances.
