Orange Alert 🤜🍊🤛🏽: Attn members and community. We are living in some crazy backwards times. We have Government Departmental Leaders holding down the lowest paid workers, fighting proposed legislation to lift up the most vulnerable works and SAVE TAX PAYER $$$ money. The departments cannot account for the millions of dollars they are spending on street cleaning contracts. The Controller’s office audited SFDPW and said they are totally being unaccountable for tax payer dollars that are not making the streets cleaner, contractors are charging $189per hour for a laborer which is almost a 500% mark up. It is baffling that in San Francisco, of all places, we have department heads, making Trump like moves against workers and tax payers to make their friends rich.

LiUNA, Local 261, Union Sisters United is conducting a gently used Clothing and Book Drive to benefit San Francisco, La Casa De Las Madres https://www.lacasa.org. For every piece of gently used clothing or books collected, Community Thrift will issue a voucher for survivors of domestic violence through La Casa De Las Madres, to go shopping for their immediate clothing and housing needs.
Please encourage our brothers, sisters, and community, to donate their gently used clothing or books to our drive. We will be accepting donations at the SF Hall on May 6, 2025 from 6:30am - 4:00pm.
