Ruqiyah worked with a team of artists, editors, & music composers to bring an intentionally diverse cast into this visual novel.

Why does our work matter?🤔💭

Games are a cultural force and the fastest-growing medium today.
Over 3 billion people play games and half of Gen Z ranks games as their top media. Yet, the marginalized are underrepresented in the game industry. For example, 83% of Black teens play games, but only 2% of game creators are Black. We aim to address disparities like this.

Game Devs of Color Expo has been awarded $15,000 by the New York State Council on the Arts. Celebrate with us! 🎉

We’re happy to announce this grant award totaling $15,000 from the NYSCA to support the arts and culture sector. Through New York State’s continued investment in arts and culture, NYSCA has awarded $80.9 million in FY 2026 to arts and culture nonprofits across all 10 regions and a historic number of artists.

“New York’s arts and culture sector is a cornerstone of the state’s identity, and we're making bold investments to ensure it remains strong,” Governor Hochul said.

We will continue to bring our community great programming & resources in the coming year!
