Mission Action stands in solidarity with Hospitality House and the Sixth Street community.

Join us TODAY, August 19, from 11 AM–1 PM at 169 6th Street for the Save Our Sixth Street Rally in support of Hospitality House’s Sixth Street Self-Help Center.

Community spaces like the Self-Help Center provide critical resources, connection, and dignity to our neighbors. Let’s show up together and make our voices heard.

Last Saturday, Mission Action distributed 80 backpacks and school supplies to families in our Stay Over Program (SOP), helping students start the new school year prepared and ready to learn.

The Stay Over Program is a family shelter program operated in partnership with the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing. The program provides shelter and support to SFUSD students and their families who are experiencing homelessness.

For families navigating homelessness, back-to-school season can bring additional challenges. Many students may not have consistent access to basic school supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, and other essentials they need in the classroom. At Mission Action, we want every young person in our programs to have the tools they need to feel confident, participate fully in school, and be set up for success.

We are incredibly grateful to our partners at Urban Angels for their generous donation of backpacks and school supplies. Their continued partnership helps us ensure that our families feel supported and that students can begin the school year with the resources they deserve.

Thank you, Urban Angels, for showing up for our families and investing in our young people!

On June 14 and 20, domestic workers, families, organizers, and community members gathered in Los Angeles and Oakland to honor International Domestic Workers Day and celebrate the leadership, resilience, and collective power of domestic workers. 💜✊🏽

Throughout the day, we honored the history and leadership of domestic workers through storytelling, art, screen printing, movement, flowers, wellness activities, music, a shared meal, and meaningful connection.

We are deeply grateful to every domestic worker, member leader, partner, artist, vendor, and staff member who helped make these gatherings possible. Domestic workers do more than sustain homes and families, they organize, lead, and shape the future of our communities.

This gathering strengthened our commitment to building a California where every domestic worker is respected, protected, and able to live and work with dignity.
