Had the pleasure of meeting justinsun at - a full circle moment for me.

I began my journey at Huobi (now HTX), the very exchange he took over. But beyond the nostalgia, what I was most excited to share with him was how much I admired one of his boldest moments: purchasing Maurizio Cattelan’s conceptual artwork (a banana 🍌 duct-taped to a wall) for $6.2 million at a Sotheby’s auction in November 2024. A week later, he ate the banana during a press event in Hong Kong, turning the act into a viral sensation 😳

Whether you found it absurd or brilliant, you definitely heard about it.

From CNN, BBC, Forbes to The Guardian - every major news outlet covered it. It wasn’t just an art stunt, it was a marketing masterpiece.

The earned media value alone is estimated to have far exceeded what he paid for it!

And for many outside the space, that banana was their unexpected first touchpoint with the industry.
