When 17 women investment professionals gathered in San Francisco in 1956, they sought a forum in which they could exchange ideas, share experiences and help develop their careers. While the industry has seen tremendous changes, almost half a century later many of the needs and goals of women in finance have stayed the same: the desire to network with other accomplished women and have their accompl
ishments recognized, the need for relevant information on the hot issues of the day and the goal to succeed at the highest levels. And, just as the needs of financial women haven't changed much, Financial Women of San Francisco continues to be as meaningful and relevant today as it was to its founders. Committed to promoting the success of financial women, FWSF promotes the development, career progress and leadership of women in finance and financial services. We attract executive and managerial-level women whose expertise ranges from investment management and analysis to accounting, banking, marketing, communications, corporate treasury, financial underwriting, and estate and personal financial planning, among others. Our ranks include CEOs, CFOs, corporate treasurers, CPAs and attorneys, as well as commercial and private bankers, investment advisors, fund managers, securities analysts, administrators, consultants, recruiters and other professions.
