This morning, the Supreme Court let us know exactly how they feel about transgender people including and especially trans girls and women youth athletes. Transgender people don't have the same rights as everyone else in the United States. It's that simple.

For years, transgender girl student athletes — children — have fought legal battles just for the right to play. Now the Court has barred them from school athletic teams. What a way to spend a childhood.

At LYRIC, we believe all LGBTQQ+ children have the right to be who they are at any age, and to compete in sports no matter their assigned gender at birth. This isn't just a ruling against student athletes, it's part of a broader effort to dismantle hard-won rights for LGBTQ people and women alike.

We will keep fighting for a future where all people are treated equally, and we'll keep supporting LGBTQQ+ youth to feel safe in our community.

On Transgender Day of Visibility, LYRIC hosted an art show featuring 8 artists, chronicling their lived experiences through Tale as Old as Time, an exhibition celebrating the creativity, resilience, and imagination of trans and gender nonconforming youth.

Through sculptures, illustrations, and mixed media works, the exhibition tells a timeless story

Thank you to everyone who attended the opening reception! The exhibition is open to the public at Youth Art Exchange at 400 Geneva Avenue until April 30, 2026!

From business and cosmetology school to nonprofit work and service training, our young people got to see lots of different paths and even chat one-on-one with experts to receive personalized guidance for their future and get access to exclusive opportunities made just for them 🌟
