Young Community Developers Generational Change Starts Here! Established in 1973, Young Community Developers, Inc. The targeted population is among the hardest to serve.

(YCD) is a 501c (3) community based organization that provides a variety of training and support opportunities for residents of the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco. Per year some eighteen hundred individuals (1,800) receive employment and training related services through YCD. Over the years YCD has successfully operated both educational and employment based training opportunities for residents of the Southeast Sector.

When YCD first began, we had to think differently, adapt quickly, and create new solutions for the challenges facing our community.
50 years later, that same spirit continues to guide us.

As Bayview has grown and transformed over the past 50 years, so have we. We’ve expanded our programs, evolved with our community, and continued to lead with creativity, resilience, and purpose.

Because progress doesn’t happen by standing still.
The next 50 years will require the same courage to adapt, imagine, and build something better together.

Every few months, our team rolls up their sleeves and partners with Refuse Refuse to help clean up the Bayview 3rd Street Corridor. 🧤✨

From picking up litter to helping beautify shared public spaces, our employees are proud to give their time back to the community we serve. 😁

To celebrate National Volunteer Month, our Employee Resource Group JOJI (The Joy of Joining In) returned to 1038 Innes with Habitat for Humanity to continue restoring the home they built last year. 🔨🏚️

After a collision severely damaged the property, our team jumped in to help with drywall, underlayment prep, shingle cutting, and general woodworking. 👷‍♀️

We’re so proud to have supported the transformation of this house back into a home! 💚

For over 50 years, purpose has carried YCD through every challenge, every transition, and every new beginning.
