Ten years ago HYA closed the doors to our magical drop-in center. It was a space that was a refuge for 12 years. Despite our struggle to find a permanent home again, we never, not even for a day, not even during the pandemic stopped providing services. Please consider supporting our work either by donating on here or directly through our website. Check out the video below to learn about some of our work!

Unfortunately for some reason we have lost our "Donate" button on this page and also seem to be unable to be selected as a beneficiary for fundraisers. We sadly became aware of this when our ED tried to make their annual birthday fundraiser. With that said while we try to resolve this you can always donate through our website. Wishing everyone love and as always thank you for your support of HYA and of your fellow human beings.

Dearest HYA fans. This past month at HYA has come with an incredible amount of loss (5 people) and we need assistance to help cover the cost of the cremation services for a few of our folks. Please give anything you can and know that we are grateful. As always your donation is tax deductible. Please cherish the time you have with people and be kinder to yourselves.

Give these valued community members the dignified end that they deserve. Though 2023 is less than half over, our community already has suffered far too many tragic losses this year, with five beloved participants having passed in the last month alone. These deaths take a heavy toll on the young peop...

Social movements are advancing transformative visions for a world beyond the convergent crises of our time. How can we respond to the impacts of climate catastrophe, pandemic, capitalism, and white supremacy, while also shaping the wins that will be possible in the future?
On Saturday, April 30th, hear from three incredible movement leaders about what strategies our movements need now to build the world we long for.
Join Dominique Walker with Moms 4 Housing, Darakshan Raja with Muslims for Just Future, and Ravyn Wngz with Black Lives Matter Canada for a panel on Transformative Organizing Strategies. What are the visions of the world we are fighting for, and what are the strategies that can get us there?
There will be Spanish language interpretation, sign language and closed captioning. Please help spread the word. Your organization can co-sponsor the event here: https://docs.google.com/.../1oLQgcq71Al0PqOYe3JD4z1V.../edit

Hey all, it's , which we're always glad falls at this time of year. The nights are getting much colder, and we always see an uptick in folks asking us for tarps, sleeping bags, socks, hand warmers, and emergen-c. During the pandemic, it's even more important that we help our unhoused neighbors stay healthy and warm, but that gear is not cheap. Can you lend us a hand?

Your donations could do the following:

-$10 buys 40 sets of toothbrushes, floss, and toothpaste

- $20 gets 4 cold weather packs, with a poncho, handwarmers, and a tarp

- $30 purchases 25 pairs of socks

- $500 pays for 33 sleeping bags

Donations can be made directly here: https://homelessyouthalliance.networkforgood.com/

Thank you, as always, for your support!

Our mission is to meet youth experiencing homelessness where they're at, and help them build healthier lives.

Earlier this year a bright light in San Francisco, Courtney Brousseau, was shot and killed in the Mission. His sudden death was shocking to all who knew him. He was dedicated to community service, and was a regular monthly donor to HYA.

In the months since he passed, we’ve seen an outpouring of love and donations for our organization. To date, more than $10,000 has been gifted to HYA in his memory. We’re grateful for what he brought to this city, and to his community for sharing his vision in creating a more equitable and loving San Francisco. Rest in power, Courtney.

Took a break on my admin day in Oakland today to meet up with T-Masks Brand Marinade Beast Mode Flagship Store Marshawn Lynch and do some outreach at the giraffe encampment (I do outreach here often cause it’s close to my house). These allies kicked down 1,500 masks for Homeless Youth Alliance to give out to our people. This is community taking care of community. Thank y’all and Happy Birthday to Jeremy today. Thank you to Errico Bachicha for the hook up!

Because we were a) not familiar with this reporter and b) so busy working, I sat out doing an interview. Media is a delicate thing that often complicates relationships, increases tension, and is used as a weapon of blame and hostility. I am grateful to Coalition on Homelessness, Christin Evans and Dean Preston for their words, well done. People need housing. Until the City moves forward with putting folks in hotels, creating safe spaces to set up tents is the best way to go.

Advocates for the homeless population are pushing the city to turn the Kezar stadium lot into a legal tent site that could fit as many as 100 tents in spaces marked to ensure social distancing

We would like to take a moment to thank the Haight Ashbury community's housed residents who answered our call. Since Day 1 neighbors have prepared home cooked food for up to 80 people a shift, 5 days a week. This is a truly remarkable and beautiful gesture.
