CHECK IT OUT AND SPREAD THE WORD!

On Wednesday, October 21st, 2026 the San Francisco Department of Elections will be holding a FREE presentation on Ranked Choice Voting and items on the upcoming November 3rd election. This election day is FAR TOO IMPORTANT to let slip by so tap in!

There will be members of the SF Elections team present to assist with questions.

AAACC and SF Elections WILL NOT be telling you who to vote for or attempt to sway you in either direction but WE WILL be sharing resources to help you form your own opinion and ensure you know where to go vote and what to do if you encounter any difficulties.

Do you have a Voters Guide? Currently working to inform San Francisco voters not only about the importance of voting but also the potential ripples that can come from each each decision in the short and long term? YOU'RE INVITED TOO! We want to give our community as much information as possible!

Beloved Community! We are excited to invite you to the closing reception of Emory Douglas: In Our Lifetime. The evening will feature:

* Exhibit tours led by co-curators Rio Yañez and Rosalind McGrary

* An artist talk with Emory Douglas speaking on his work as the Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party as well as the history behind many of the pieces in the exhibition.

* A conversation between Emory Douglas, Harold Taylor (San Francisco 8), and Curtis Austin (historian, writer of Thirty-Six Years Later: The San Francisco 8 and the Long Shadow of COINTELPRO) exploring San Francisco's position and impact on the black Panther Party movement.

* Live music by Shonnie and Trinity Sax

* Catering and Craft Cocktails

Emory Douglas: In Our Lifetime is a survey of the work and vision of the artist spanning over 50 years. This three floor exhibit co-curated by Rio Yañez and Rosalind McGary featuring the work of Emory Douglas, former Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party of Self Defense ultimately creating revolutionary iconography that translated the Party's 10-Point Platform into a visual language accessible to all.

This exhibit is free and open to the public, Monday - Saturday from 10am - 5pm.

Description: Join Marc Stallion, the SF Black Film Festival and the AAACC for an afternoon of film and performance technique.

Film Synopsis: Inspired by real life experiences of award-winning journalist, Isaac Bailey, with a severe stutter, “Ripple” is an independent feature drama that delves into complex themes such as race, PTSD, and the impact of trauma.

Acting Workshop: Featuring Director, Marc Stallion. Introducing actors to the framework and technique from Marc’s acting method book.
