📣 Help us get AB 1573 across the finish line!

AB 1573, the Unseen and Unheard Housing Act, which is co-sponsored by SF SafeHouse, Community Forward SF, and the SF Women's Housing Coalition, would ensure that survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and assault are considered in future housing planning in California.

The bill has passed the Legislature with NO opposition—now we need your help to urge Governor Newsom to sign it into law.

✍️ Take a few minutes to submit a letter of support by Wednesday, September 2. Every voice helps ensure survivors are seen, heard, and included in California’s housing future.

Yesterday, our team came together for a special Staff Appreciation event at Victoria Manalo Draves Park, right in the heart of the SoMa neighborhood. ☀️♥️

This year’s theme was A Walk Through the Decades! From themed outfits to team games, delicious food, raffle prizes, and lots of laughter, it was an afternoon all about connection and celebrating one another.

Most importantly, we took a moment to recognize the dedication, heart, and care our staff bring to our community every day. We’re so grateful for the people who make our work possible!

A special thank you to our Staff Appreciation planning committee for all their hard work over the past few months to make our team feel extra special. We appreciate you!

🎉 AB 1573 has passed the Senate!

The Unseen and Unheard Housing Act, authored by Assemblymember Isaac Bryan and Assemblymember Catherine Stefani, is now on its way to Governor Newsom's desk!

This is a huge step forward for survivors of domestic violence. AB 1573 requires that cities in the state of California include survivors in any plans for housing and moves us closer to creating systems that better respond to their needs.

Community Forward SF has been proud to advocate for this legislation and will continue championing AB 1573 through the final steps of the process.
Because every survivor deserves housing that is safe, stable, and responsive to their needs. ❤️

We’re deeply grateful to the National Association of Postal Supervisors (NAPS) for their generous gift to Community Forward, presented at the Humanitarian Project during their 70th National Convention.

A special thank-you to Phoebe Jordan of the North Carolina chapter for recommending Community Forward and helping make this support possible, and to Blue Cross Blue Shield for their contribution.

Thank you to NAPS for investing in our mission and helping us continue creating pathways to safety, stability, and home for the people we serve.

We’re thrilled to celebrate our VP of Reentry & Public Affairs, Rebecca Jackson, who was honored with the Building Bridges Award at Summer in the City, hosted by the San Francisco Women’s Political Committee. 🎉

This year’s theme, Women Who Build the Future, recognizes women whose leadership is helping shape a stronger, more equitable San Francisco.

Rebecca’s tireless advocacy for unhoused women and survivors has helped advance access to housing, services, and care across our city. Through her leadership at Community Forward SF and the San Francisco Women’s Housing Coalition, she continues to build bridges that create lasting change.

Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved recognition!

For many of the women we serve, finding the time, space, and sense of security to practice self-care can be incredibly difficult. Access to the products that help make those moments possible is often out of reach.

Thanks to our partnership with Mind4Youth, we've been able to provide participants with brand-new undergarments and self-care products from LUSH, Redken, Sol de Janeiro, YSL Beauty, Lancome, IT Cosmetics, and more.

We're deeply grateful to Mind4Youth for their continued partnership and generosity. Together, we're helping ensure that every woman has access to moments of comfort, dignity, and care. 💜

We are so grateful for the generous donation of hygiene kits we received through our recent partnership with Impact 4 Good and one of their incredible corporate partners. As part of the Crisis Care Kits program, we received 840 hygiene kits that were thoughtfully assembled with care and compassion. Each kit includes essential items such as shampoo, bar soap, deodorant, and much more.

What makes these kits even more meaningful is that each one also includes a handwritten note filled with words of encouragement and kindness. 🌻

To everyone who helped assemble these kits: thank you for your generosity, your time, and your compassion. Your support helps ensure that women have access to everyday essentials while reminding them that their community cares. 💜
