Tonight, with the help of Giants pitcher Dylan Smith, we celebrated this year’s graduating class of Willie Mays Scholars at Oracle Park.

Dylan presented Elan Elias with her graduation stole as she prepares to attend Boston University. Fellow graduate Kaden Maxey (not pictured) was already beginning his next chapter today—moving into Benedict College, an HBCU.

Congratulations, Elan and Kaden! We can’t wait to see all that comes next. 🧡

Community spirit in action. 🧡

Earlier today at Oracle Park, we honored Jessica Carey as the 2026 Community Spirit Award recipient. For 13 years, Jessica has volunteered with Girls On The Run Bay Area, helping more than 200 girls build confidence through movement.

The award was created 20 years ago in honor of longtime Giants Community Fund Board Member Isabelle Lemon. Following Isabelle’s passing this spring, today’s ceremony also celebrated her life and lasting “can-do” spirit.

Presenting the award in Isabelle’s honor were members of her family, Ted Turner, Darren Samuelson and Terry Coleman, alongside Giants Community Fund Executive Director Sue Petersen and Community Partnerships Committee Chair Blake Sasaki.

Girls on the Run Bay Area will receive a $2,500 grant in recognition of Jessica’s service. Congratulations, Jessica! 🎉

Today, the San Francisco Giants proudly recognized Sue Petersen, Executive Director of the Giants Community Fund, as the recipient of the 2026 Alexis T. Busch Award.

Presented annually by Momentum, the Giants Women’s Network, the award honors a woman within the organization whose leadership has advanced girls and women in sports. It carries forward the legacy of Alexis T. Busch, the first bat girl in Giants and Major League Baseball history.

For more than three decades, Sue has led the Fund with an enduring commitment to creating opportunities for young people. She was honored today during a special Girls Day pregame ceremony at Oracle Park.

Congratulations, Sue, on this well-deserved recognition. 🧡
