Dost Education is delighted to renew its partnership with the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department (WECD), Government of Uttarakhand, towards strengthening and expanding Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) efforts across the state with the signing of an MoU.

This partnership will support the Uttarakhand Government’s flagship ECCE initiatives, including Navchetna, Adharshila, and the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi campaign. Through this collaboration, special emphasis will be placed on improving the quality of Anganwadi Centres, strengthening family engagement, and creating enabling environments that support children’s holistic development.

Dost Education will continue to support 13 districts of Uttarakhand through its programs, technical assistance, digital innovations, language development initiatives, community engagement and the strengthening of model Anganwadi Centres.

This partnership is a step toward ensuring that every young child in Uttarakhand has access to opportunities for learning, development, and care. It further reinforces the state’s commitment to building child-friendly environments that nurture growth and lifelong learning.

We are delighted to feature Mr. Saroj Tripathi, ECCE Nodal Officer, Uttarakhand, as part of our campaign.

At Dost Education, we are proud to partner with the Uttarakhand ICDS team in their vision of ensuring that every child receives a joyful, nurturing, and developmentally rich start in life. Through our renewed partnership, we look forward to working together to bring the power of Talk, Care, and Play to families across the state.

Mr. Tripathi’s reflections remind us that play is not merely an activity, it is how children learn, connect, communicate, and thrive. As we continue this journey together, we remain committed to supporting caregivers, communities, and frontline workers in making playful, responsive caregiving a part of every child’s everyday life.

Row-row-row your boat all the way to fun and learning. Watch Anganwadi Worker Mushke Fatima in Jaspur, Uttarakhand, engage with children and hold attention with play. No toys, no props. Just one caregiver sitting at the same level as the children. They don’t even know how much they are learning.

This International Day of Play, as we push for responsive environments that encourage play for every child, we cheer the thousands of Anganwadi Workers stepping up to learn play skills with us to help create these environments.

Let’s play.

Nothing captures the spontaneity of play better than this clip of Shankar Kumar in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, playing with the children in his family in a heartwarming dad-and-kids moment.
Every day, we show over 550,000 caregivers how to turn ordinary, everyday moments into opportunities for play. Laughter, bonding and learning are just inevitable side effects that echo for years to come.
Happy International Day of Play. Go play!

A day away from the International Day of Play, we bring you this message of joy from Ayisha Mohammed at Lively Minds.

She reminds us that play is an invitation to both caregiver and child to enter a moment of curiosity, connection and silliness together and that this can happen at any moment in the day. All it takes is presence and the willingness to play. Thank you for the inspiration, Ayisha.

Today, on , we’d like to introduce a new term - new term - - a recognition and celebration of all the spaces, people, things and moments that inspire, encourage and enable play. Because play does so much, it’s the best influencer for childhood!

So what can you do?

Every place, park, pebble, puddle, pet, and playful person can be a Playfluencer. Spot them. Celebrate them. Become one yourself! Together, let’s build a culture where play has champions everywhere.

Play gives a child physical and emotional nourishment, meeting a primary need for love and care. What a beautiful insight from Sourav Banerjee, Vice President, Room to Read Global, on the eve of the International Day of Play. Thank you Sourav for reminding us of all the skills building up in a child through play and that the best gift we can give children is the opportunity to play with abandon.

Eleanor Sykes is a passionate early childhood development advocate who, through her work at Lively Minds, has championed the power of parents and communities in helping children thrive. Her work has focused on scaling playful, nurturing early learning through government systems across Africa.

This International Day of Play, we are absolutely delighted to have Eleanor share her perspective on why play is one of the highest forms of care, and why every parent and caregiver should be supported to make the most of everyday moments of play.

Care means more than just health and nutrition, says Shashank Khare, an early childhood practitioner at HCLFoundation. Care is also joyful interaction, exploration and connection.

One of the most powerful ways in which children develop language, curiosity, creativity and school readiness is through play. And this power multiplies when a responsive family join in.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Thank you Shashank for the perspective and the reminder as we get set to celebrate the International Day of Play.
