Based in Kenya, Gathii will be supporting the organization’s data-driven approach to program delivery and impact globally. He is responsible for the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of operational and program data, helping strengthen evidence-based decision-making.

An optometrist by training, Gathii’s experience spans clinical eye care, program data management, and project implementation. His expertise and commitment to strengthening local systems will help expand access to vision care for communities that need it most.

In a happy timing-twist, he's meeting other members of our team at this week, a fun welcome for a fully virtual organization!

For more than 15 years, the partnership between RestoringVision and National Vision Inc. has helped bring clear vision to millions of people around the world. What makes that impact possible isn’t just funding or eyeglasses—it’s people.

During National Vision’s 20/20 Quest week of volunteer service in Mexico City, associates stepped away from their day jobs to work side-by-side with the RestoringVision and our local government partner Sistema Nacional DIF (SNDIF), helping expand access to vision care and eyeglasses for communities that need them most. Their energy, compassion, and commitment were on full display every day.

We are grateful for this lasting partnership built on shared purpose, and look forward to turning that purpose into action again this fall with another group of volunteers! ❤️

🙌 Last week, we had the honor of convening our first‑ever RestoringVision-international NGO partners meeting. It was both a milestone and a beginning.

The global challenges we’re all working to address are growing more complex, and no single organization can meet them alone. At the same time, vision is increasingly recognized as foundational to health, education, and livelihoods—priorities each of our partners advances every day. It felt like the right time to come together, learn from one another, and deepen how we collaborate in this evolving landscape.
