Create Peace Project (CPP) is an arts-for-peace-education organization working to empower children around the world to promote peace through creativity. We achieve this by facilitating collaborative arts workshops and engaging youth in positive peace practices through our arts-for-peace projects. We are founded on the belief that making art is one of the greatest tools for deepening self-awareness

, self-regulation, increasing social-emotional intelligence, strengthening community and fostering connection ~ by building bridges between people that ultimately create peace. Using both individual and collaborative art projects, we have developed a multi-faceted, peace education and peace promotion global initiative. In our work with more than 50,000 children and adults from 50 countries, we have seen that the practice of peace starts with the individual and then ripples outward. The positive change that occurs through those ripples – with individuals, in families, on communities – is acting as a change agent in ways that governmental policies and practices cannot. This is why CPP uses creativity and self-expression as our primary tools to engage participants in promoting uplifting and positive messages while learning how to work together to resolve differences non-violently. In this fast-paced age of over-stimulation, heightened violence, under-nourishment and socio-economic stress, it is imperative that we find ways to empower youth to create a more peaceful world that will benefit us all.

For the past few weeks, Create Peace Project has been leading our first international mosaic mural at the Middle school in FARE, HUAHINE. we have worked with 400 students at the middle school and many community members to create this piece. The Mosaic is complete. Up next - installation. Stay tuned for the finished piece.

T-36 hrs until departure for Tahiti! Can’t believe we are leaving Tomorw. This project has been in the works for over a year feeling excited a little bit nervous and oh so curious to watch it all unfold. First stop Moorea to see the humpbacks. Then we fly to Huahine on the 8th. Project begins on the 14th w students. 5 days to prepare once we land. Many thanks to Izabella Jo Tschig for all her support, Edith Molinier and Nicolas Gout for the accommodations, Corinne Cimerman for organizing our plan at the school and Mataaiai Itchner for orchestrating the pick up of the crate and more. So much gratitude for everyone and all who have supported this project from so many angles. If you want to be on the team, you can still contribute. It all helps. Many updates to come! Mauruuru!!

We are on our way to French Polynesia in 9 days. this is very exciting. I am so grateful for all the support and generosity from everyone who has contributed to Create Peace Projects first international mosaic. If you would like to join our support team, there is still time. We are on a mission to spread love with the arts, and this project certainly will be that. It will be a beautiful piece, created by 400 middle school students and many community members. Be part of this historic undertaking. It will be the first, certainly not the last. After our first two weeks of this current project, having worked w all 400 students at Sunset elementary, our project was paused for a week by the district architect in order to assess the retaining wall where we will be installing it. Rachel Brown and I were back on site today to begin the finishing touches and completing the work w did w the students. Feeling excited. Looks awesome. This is about 1/6th. (Install will not happen until we return from French Polynesia - but it will be done a ready to go). Grateful for the ability to live as a working artist. Best ever!
