We are deeply saddened by the passing of SEO’s founder, Michael Osheowitz, last week.
In 1963, inspired by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, Michael set out to create opportunities for those less fortunate. What started as a conversation at his kitchen table became SEO — a movement that has transformed the lives of thousands.
His vision expanded SEO into six high-impact programs, reaching 7,000 young people annually in the U.S. and inspiring affiliates across the globe. Today, SEO’s 26,000+ alumni continue to carry forward his vision at the highest levels of business, government, and nonprofits.
Michael’s legacy is one of unwavering commitment to ensuring that talent is matched with opportunity. Please take a moment to honor his remarkable life and the impact he has had on so many.
