The Power of Play ⚽

Play is more than fun. It’s how children connect, build trust, express themselves, and discover that they belong.

On the pitch, play creates a safe space where children can build confidence, form meaningful relationships, and have the opportunity to learn, grow, and heal.

Because sometimes, play is where learning begins. ❤️

Passing on the Pitch ⚽

For children forced to flee their homes in Sudan and South Sudan, life has brought challenges no child should have to face.

But on the pitch, they find a place where they can feel safe, connect with others, and enjoy simply being children.

With every pass, they’re learning more than a football skill. They’re learning to communicate, trust one another, and work together—building confidence and resilience along the way.

At Reading on the Pitch, we believe every child deserves a safe space to learn, play, connect, and dream, wherever their journey may take them.

🌍⚽ Building connections, one pass at a time.

Education Without Walls

Not every classroom has four walls—because not every child has access to one.

At Reading on the Pitch, learning happens under the open sky, where every pass, every game, and every moment becomes an opportunity to read, write, and grow.

Pitches. Sidewalks. Gardens. Open spaces.

We don’t wait for access to happen. We bring learning to the children who don’t have access to a traditional classroom, transforming the spaces around them into safe spaces to play and learn.

Because when the classroom isn’t within reach, we create one. ⚽📚🌍

From the Starting Line to the Finish Line. ⚽📚

At Reading on the Pitch, we don’t just teach — we measure, monitor, and learn from the progress of every program we deliver.

ROTP has developed rigorous monitoring mechanisms to track learner progress from the beginning to the end of program implementation.

Learners’ knowledge and skills are measured across four key areas:

💬 Conversation
📖 Literacy
⚽ Football/Soccer
🤝 Respect

We assess where learners begin, put learning into play on the pitch, continue to practice and build skills, and measure again at the end of the program.

Because progress matters.

And when we measure growth, we can better understand the impact of creating opportunities for children to learn, play, move, and grow.

We assess. We teach. We play. We measure. We grow.

A Moment to Breathe

In a world that can feel overwhelming, every child deserves moments of peace. A moment to breathe. A moment to be present.

For many children facing uncertainty and challenges, finding moments of calm and connection can make a lasting difference. A safe space, a caring coach, and a supportive community can help children feel seen, valued, and empowered.

At Reading on the Pitch, we believe that every child deserves opportunities to learn, play, and grow. Through football, education, and well-being activities, we create safe spaces where children can build confidence, develop resilience, and discover their potential.

Sometimes, a simple breath can be the beginning of a powerful moment — a moment where a child feels supported, connected, and ready to keep moving forward.

Together, we can create more moments of hope, growth, and possibility — one child, one community, and one pitch at a time. ⚽🌱

We demonstrate. Children discover. Children play. Confidence grows. A coach is trained. Impact multiplies.

At Reading on the Pitch, we believe lasting change happens when knowledge is shared and local leaders are empowered to continue the work.

Our model is built around a train-the-trainer approach: we don’t just bring our programs to communities — we equip coaches and educators with the tools, activities, and methodology to deliver them independently.

This carousel captures our first-ever trainer training in Cairo, Egypt, where we partnered with Tawasol, a community development organization in Ezbet Khairallah that supports underserved communities through education, wellness programs, and local initiatives.

During this training, our team demonstrated the Reading on the Pitch English and Arabic programs directly with children. As the children participated in the activities, Tawasol’s coach observed the approach, learned the methodology, and gained the confidence to lead the program herself.

By training one coach, we expand our reach beyond a single program — creating local leaders who can educate even more children, empower other adults, and spread new skills throughout their communities.

This is how we multiply impact: one coach, one community, and one child at a time. ⚽📚

Every Child Has a Story

Every child carries a story. A story of where they came from, what they have overcome, and the dreams they are building for the future.

At Reading on the Pitch, every child deserves a safe space where their story can continue to grow — a place to play, learn, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.

Every child also deserves the opportunity to learn. Yet for millions of children affected by conflict and displacement, education is interrupted because there is no classroom to go to. Learning shouldn’t stop when a classroom disappears.

Through football, literacy, and well-being activities, we bring learning to the pitch, creating opportunities for children to build confidence, develop new skills, and rediscover the joy of simply being a child.

Every child’s story matters. Every child deserves to be seen, heard, educated, and supported as they discover who they are, develop their potential, and imagine what is possible. ⚽🌍

Education on the Pitch - Arabic Literacy Games ⚽📚

At Reading on the Pitch, literacy and football go hand in hand.

In this Arabic literacy game, children from Awlady Orphanage are learning through movement. Each cone is marked with an Arabic letter or word. The coach calls out a letter or word, and players race to the correct cone. Once they’ve mastered the literacy game, a football is added, and they repeat the challenge while practicing their dribbling skills.

Every pass reinforces learning.
Every touch builds confidence.
Every game makes education active, engaging, and fun.

Because learning doesn’t always happen inside four walls—it can happen on the pitch.

Confidence isn’t built in a single kick.

It’s built every time a child chooses to try again.

At Reading on the Pitch, we believe every pass is more than a football skill.

It’s a step toward confidence, resilience, and the belief that “I CAN!”

Through the power of football, we’re creating safe spaces where children learn, grow, and thrive.

One child at a time.

More than 52 million children in countries affected by conflict are estimated to be out of school (unicef).

We are changing that.

We transform spaces into safe spaces for children to play.

Where displaced children get to just be kids again.

Learning does not require classrooms.

We use active sports play to build literacy.

Building language skills. Building confidence.

Combining physical exercise, literacy games, outdoor learning, and mental well-being on every pitch.

Play. Learn. Heal. Belong.
