Thank you to everyone who donated to SMART’s Back to School appeal! With your support, we surpassed our $10k goal - raising over $14k in addition to a $10k anonymous matching gift for a total of $24,132 🎉🥳

Every dollar directly supports our Scholars. Thank you for believing in their futures.

SMART isn’t possible without our incredible community.

Right now, every dollar you give is doubled - all gifts are being matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000 by an anonymous donor to support our newest cohort. Help us kick off the year strong. We’re back! 🎒

After-school programming kicked off this week, and our space is brimming with energy again. Scholars grades 6-12 engage in tutoring, mentoring, and the kind of support that makes a real difference between getting through school and actually thriving in it.

During the summer, SMART partners with Young STEAMers - another California nonprofit specifically dedicated to providing equitable access to science learning. Three days a week, teachers came in to lead science classes.

Since 2023, we have collaborated and expanded our partnership with Young STEAMers such that our SMART high schoolers now have the opportunity to volunteer with their organization and even work for the program after graduation.

It’s only been a week since we wrapped up our summer program, and our space now feels so empty and quiet 😢 Missing the joy and energy of this incredible group of rising 5th graders, but hope everyone is enjoying their last few weeks of summer break before school starts back up!

We love our annual field trips to the - part of our six-week summer program for rising 5th graders! It’s always a joy to watch our students engage with science in such a fun, interactive environment (and make some great summer memories along the way!)

It’s always a pleasure to welcome the team from Sixth Street, one of our longstanding corporate partners. Last week, members of their team volunteered with our summer program for Park Day. Volunteers led art, soccer, and playgroup stations.

Our summer program for rising 5th graders is partially underwritten by Sixth Street and we were thrilled that employees experienced the impact of their support by engaging SMART’s youngest Scholars.

Thank you to the Champion Sponsors of SMART Goes to College 2026!!

Another fabulous Step Up event! Our annual gradation celebration is always a wonderful time, bringing together our 8th and 12th grade Scholars and their families. We take a moment to recognize and celebrate the students’ hard work and the unwavering support of their families as they wrap up an important academic chapter.

Congratulations to our Scholars as they continue their journeys into high school and college!

Thank you to for hosting our celebration in their beautiful space.

One night. One community. $1.12 million.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, cheered, and championed SMART Goes to College 2026! With your support, this year’s gala broke fundraising records and allows us to continue creating equitable pathways to a college degree for San Francisco students.

Special shoutout to our keynote speaker, Daniel! Your journey to and through SMART is absolutely inspiring, and we can’t wait to follow your college journey at Stanford this fall.

SGTC 2026 was presented by Qatalyst and Sixth Street. This night would also not have been possible without all of our sponsors, our amazing vendor team, and local beverage donations:
