It’s only been a week since we wrapped up our summer program, and our space now feels so empty and quiet 😢 Missing the joy and energy of this incredible group of rising 5th graders, but hope everyone is enjoying their last few weeks of summer break before school starts back up!

We love our annual field trips to the - part of our six-week summer program for rising 5th graders! It’s always a joy to watch our students engage with science in such a fun, interactive environment (and make some great summer memories along the way!)

It’s always a pleasure to welcome the team from Sixth Street, one of our longstanding corporate partners. Last week, members of their team volunteered with our summer program for Park Day. Volunteers led art, soccer, and playgroup stations.

Our summer program for rising 5th graders is partially underwritten by Sixth Street and we were thrilled that employees experienced the impact of their support by engaging SMART’s youngest Scholars.

Another fabulous Step Up event! Our annual gradation celebration is always a wonderful time, bringing together our 8th and 12th grade Scholars and their families. We take a moment to recognize and celebrate the students’ hard work and the unwavering support of their families as they wrap up an important academic chapter.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, cheered, and championed SMART Goes to College 2026! With your support, this year’s gala broke fundraising records and allows us to continue creating equitable pathways to a college degree for San Francisco students.

Special shoutout to our keynote speaker, Daniel! Your journey to and through SMART is absolutely inspiring, and we can’t wait to follow your college journey at Stanford this fall.

Every year, we close out the school year with Park Day at Dolores Park, a celebration that includes pizza, potato sack races, art, games, sports, and a whole lot of fun. Our Scholars came together across grades to play, laugh, celebrate their hard work over the year, and soak in one last moment together before summer. 🌞🌱

For our seniors, Park Day carries more weight. A moment to reflect on how far they've come, and to look ahead at everything waiting for them in college and beyond. We hope they take the community, joy, and friendships they've made at SMART with them wherever they go. 🎓✨

On Saturday, we hosted our annual Career Conference! Over 80 Scholars from three local education nonprofits attended a day-long program filled with workshops, roundtable discussions, and 1:1 networking with professionals across varied industries like tech, finance, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and more. This was our first year partnering with other organizations to expand this event’s impact, and we were thrilled to see such robust attendance.

Thank you to our partner institutions and for helping plan and run our biggest conference to-date! Thank you also to for hosting our event for the second year in a row. Finally, a huge shout out to the 28 volunteers that showed up to speak with students, share their career paths, and provide invaluable advice to our youth.

Last week, our high school Scholars had the opportunity to visit Salesforce for a tour of their headquarters and to hear from a panel of employees about their career paths. Following a presentation and lunch, around 45 Scholars were able to network and get 1:1 time with the panelists. Thank you and for providing an amazing opportunity for career exploration, networking, and building community!
