Friends of Harvey Milk Plaza San Francisco’s Harvey Milk Plaza, at the heart of the Castro District, is celebrated for its role in LGBT civil rights history.

Friends of Harvey Milk Plaza is a Castro neighborhood organization committed to maintaining and improving this public plaza – named in honor of the politician and civil rights icon – so that Harvey Milk’s legacy may continue to educate and inspire. We are undertaking an effort to create a fitting tribute to the plaza’s history and namesake in order to reimagine and reinvigorate this public space.
