It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the loss of Mona Motwani, one of Spark’s co-founders. Please join us in paying tribute.

To our Spark sister, and Co-founder, Mona Motwani, who passed away on August 12, 2021:
Thank you, warrior Mona, for gracing all of us with your passion, compassion, intelligence, and goofy fun laughter. You were part of what gave birth to Spark and, over the years, even in moments of personal struggle, you continued to care, and give, and aimed to do so. You inspired all of us with your path – from your legal career focused on protecting and advocating for those who needed it most, to your adventures in Bali, your spiritual presence, your expansion to entrepreneurship, and most recently your creativity and courage as a speaker and artist. You lived and experienced more than many people do. With gratitude, may you rest in peace.

Two gender equality activists from Turkey and Zambia had a chance to speak at the Generation Equality Forum in Paris last week. But they say they are disappointed by their experience.
