📸 pics from the Interfaith Pilgrimage in Calexico this past weekend, where we joined partners from across California to honor the lives lost to immigration detention and demand freedom and human dignity for all!

Tap the link in our bio to give to the Imperial Liberation Collaborative’s Commissary Fund in order to directly support community members currently detained at the Imperial ICE detention center.

We started outside the Imperial Regional Detention Facility where we held a vigil for Luis Beltran Yánez–Cruz and Huabing Xie, who both recently died inside this detention center. We also honored the life of Ramon Dominguez Gonzalez, a longtime organizer inside Imperial and a founding member of the Imperial Liberation Collaborative, who passed away in 2024 about a year after he was released from ICE custody.

We then joined IV Equity and Justice for a few workshops including a directly impacted leaders panel. We closed the day with a solidarity walk to Friendship Park right on the border where local organizers discussed the border wall, increased militarization, and surveillance, and their impact on the local community.

Shoutout to our partners! .sandiego

We honor immigrant mothers and their strength, loved and resilience, by continuing in the fight towards abolition.

No mother should be forced to spend Mother’s Day behind bars. No family should be separated by the intentional mechanisms of the state.

More than 18,000 people leaving California prisons have been taken into ICE custody since 2015. Nationally, the transfer of community members from prisons and jails to ICE custody — known as the prison-to-ICE pipeline — is one of the main drivers of ICE’s sprawling detention and deportation machine. We spent the day at the Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) building solidarity and spreading resources, education, and tools among our community, as well as providing consultations to participants with ICE holds. This work is critical to dismantling the prison-to-ICE pipeline which results in the detention and deportations of thousands of Californians. We met with incredible leaders and organizers inside the prison — an important reminder that the work of dismantling the prison and deportation industrial complex is first and foremost led with the resistance of those within these systems ❤️‍🔥

“Thank you to everyone who contributed to its success,” said Laura Hernández, FFI Executive Director. “What you brought was so much more than just knowledge; you brought HOPE inside. And for that I am eternally grateful.”
