Local film festival, San Francisco Independent Film Festival, just launched a new green film fest, Livable Planet Film Festival that has several great films by local filmmakers or with roots in the community. So consider checking out these Bay Area stories and storytellers.

The 23rd San Francisco Independent Film Festival is going on (virtually) until next Sunday, February 21st, so if you haven't see any films yet the festival has a reputation for adventurous programming and has a lot of films with local ties. A couple of highlights are: 499_Cinema Rodrigo Reyes, Girl in Golden Gate Park by JP Allen, California Creole by Abby Berendt Lavoi and Jeremey Lavoi. Mr. 50 by Aaron Chapman, and Playing for Keeps by Jamie Redford. And of course there are many more in the eclectic line-up which you can find here: https://sfindiefest2021.eventive.org/welcome

This Wednesday kicks off one of the coolest and most eclectic film festivals in the Bay Area, San Francisco IndieFest! A load of great
docs, including some by local filmmakers or local subjects: Exit Music film, I Am Maris, Introducing the Super Stoked Surf Mamas of Pleasure Point, Guardian screening at SF IndieFest, Desolation Center and Harvest Season doc at SF IndieFest. And local narrative fiction films:
The Last Hot Lick, Mermaids and Minotaurs screening at SF IndieFest, Collisions and Donovan Reid. So the fest is loaded up with a lot of Q&As. Check the full line-up here: http://sfindie.com/
