The journey to college is much better when you don’t do it alone! 🤝

Last month, we welcomed 277 new scholars into our college success program! Students come from SF, LA, and all across the country as they prepare to begin college this fall.

At our LA Scholars Welcome to the Family event, held in Cudahy this year, our scholars had the opportunity to meet their classmates and start building new connections. Second-year students Steven D., David A., and Nana B. shared a little about their college experience to uplift and encourage this new cohort. Parents also had the chance to connect with other families and share their excitement about their children being the first in their families to attend college.

A special thank you to the Mayor of Cudahy, Cynthia Gonzalez, Ed.D., for joining us and sharing words of encouragement with our scholars, Delicia for the delicious brunch, DJ Deon for keeping the fun going, and, of course, our amazing scholars and their families for making this event so special.

Here’s to the class of 2030! We look forward to being a part of your journey. 🎉

From Los Angeles to Miami to Brooklyn, our student leaders come from all over the country, adding their voices and experiences to our 2026 Student Ambassador Council.

The Student Ambassador Council is a student-led initiative that helps shape the ScholarMatch student experience through leadership development and community building, while providing scholars a safe space to grow. Throughout the year, these ScholarMatch ambassadors work together to organize events, promote our work to the broad student community, share feedback on programmatic content, and more.
