Phi Gamma Chi celebrates International Women’s Day!

International Women’s Day was first celebrated in 1909, then was officially recognized in 1975. According to the official website, this day comemmorates the “social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women”. The colors of IWD are purple (justice & dignity), green (hope), and white (purity - although it is a controversial concept). This year’s theme is 🙅🏽‍♀️ , which calls for gender equality.

Our organization was built upon women empowerment & breaking down stereotypes and biases. Together, we can build each other up and inspire one another to do better & be better💪🏽

✨Happy Native American Heritage Day/Month & National Day of Mourning ✨

Over the past few days, our Sisters have gathered together to learn and unlearn Native American history, discuss and create word associations with the word “thanksgiving”, participate in a sweat lodge ceremony through shamanic reiki, and express gratitude.

On the National Day Of Mourning, we are reminded of the genocide of millions of Native people. We honor their ancestors and their resilience, and acknowledge the theft of their land caused by colonization.
