We’re excited to once again partner with the legendary 924 Gilman Street Project, a volunteer-run, all-ages music venue and arts space that has supported independent music, activism, and creative expression since 1986. Known worldwide for its DIY spirit, inclusive community, and deep roots in Bay Area punk culture, Gilman has long been a home for artists, organizers, and outsiders of all kinds.

At the San Diego Comic Con 2026, Sisters Vina Sinfurrs & Tilda NexTime bestowed Sainthood to Jenny Blake Isabella!
Jenny is a trans comic book writer, editor, actor, artist and critic. She is the creator of Marvel Comics superhero Black Goliath, and of DC Comics' first major African-American superhero, Black Lightning.

Who’s gonna be at the San Diego Comic Con this year?
Sister Vina Sinfurrs and Sister Tilda NexTime from SF will be there!
And Sister Vina will be the first Sister to ever join a panel at this prestigious event!

Trina Robbins was a first-generation underground cartoonist, activist, and comix herstorian.
She's known to our Order as Saint Lulu the Illustrious, Ink-Slinging Amazon of Equality & Sacred Scribe of Comix Herstory.
Her legacy of activism and joy will be celebrated at San Diego Comic Con this week, as Sister Vina Sinfurrs will join a panel discussion about her activism (including editing fundraising comix anthologies around AIDS and abortion rights).
The panel will be nominated by historian and author Kim Munson.
If you're at the Comic Con, drop by Room 10 at 7:30pm this Thursday!

A fun piece of Sisters history!

Back in 1981 and 1982, we closed off Castro Street for a one-of-a-kind Dog Show, co-produced by Sister Lida DogsLife. The 1982 event featured an unforgettable lineup of MCs: Sister Boom Boom, Jane Dornacker, and actress Shirley MacLaine.
The beautiful event poster was designed by David Emfinger at his graphic design studio on Fillmore Street; a wonderful snapshot of the creativity and community spirit that defined those early years.

Bless us, Sisters, for we are in need of joy — and perhaps a loincloth or two! Thank hunky Jesus, this documentary blends the activism, radical resistance, and hilarity of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence from their beginnings to the present day. Weaving between Hunky Jesus 2023, interviews with some of the most storied Sisters and friends (including Sisters Roma and Vish Knew, and Saint Honey Mahogany), and archival footage from the earliest days of the Sisters’ emergence into prominence and extravagance, director Jennifer M. Kroot (To Be Takei, Frameline38; The Untold Tales of Armistead Maupin, Frameline41) has created a rollicking and heartfelt ode to our Sisters.

With all the glitz, heart, dish, and community connection you’d expect, Hunky Jesus gives rise again and again to the laughter, artistry, compassion, and fire that fuels the Sisters’ impact on the community beyond any single day in Dolores Park, and honors the decades of service and resistance that helps resurrect our faith in each other, as only the Sisters can do. And may the church say, “Amen!”

Following the screening, we’ll gather with the Sisters at The Chapel at 777 Valencia St. in The Mission — a venue fit for Hunky Jesus — for our annual Pride Kickoff Party! Grab a drink, enjoy performances and music, and help us usher in San Francisco’s Pride Weekend.
