🚀Another unforgettable Berkeley Leadership Training Summit! We dove into social transformative leadership, created inspiring visions, learned how to led effective meetings and brainstorms, practiced delegative leadership and build a community of people eager to effect change in the world.

This summit was truly special for us, featuring:
- 46 attendees from 17 different organizations and schools.
- 7 counselors and 8 C-staff members, some of whom traveled from LA and Taipei, Taiwan to join us.
- 4 inspiring general sessions, 13 hours of intensive small groups practice.
- 20+ summit planning team members and volunteers who invested their time and energy to bring this event to life.

Shoutout and a round of applause to the General staff, Counselors, Counselor-staff, Historians and every volunteer who joined us this weekend! 🤗We warmly welcome new members to the GLO family and look forward to staying in touch, continuously refining our leadership skills, and driving positive change in the world!

Artem’s role as GLO’s PeopleOps Director is where his visionary leadership truly comes to life, cultivating a culture that thrives on engagement and continuous growth.

Artem’s career path is deeply influenced by his interest in the intersection of AI and human behavior, reflecting his belief in technology as a force for positive change. His fascination with virtual reality, exploring new frontiers of computation and human-computer interaction, underscores his commitment to exploring deeper levels of engagement.

As we continue our celebration of the remarkable members that make up the Global Leadership Organization (GLO), we are thrilled to introduce Rikke, a visionary master’s student at USC specializing in Social Entrepreneurship. Rikke’s journey with us at GLO reflects a profound commitment to shaping a world where social impact businesses not only thrive but become beacons of sustainability and self-reliance.

🌟 Rikke’s pioneering spirit led to the founding of the Social Impactathon, a transformative two-day event that empowers high school and college students to launch their social initiatives. Through engaging workshops, Rikke introduces participants to diverse methodologies, nurturing the next generation of changemakers committed to ethical profit generation and societal well-being.

Her belief in self-sustainability extends beyond businesses to individuals themselves, embracing life as an «infinite game» where adaptability and a positive flow are key to personal and collective success. This philosophy underscores Rikke’s approach to leadership and social entrepreneurship as interconnected journeys toward making meaningful, enduring impacts.

In her free time, she plays sudoku to escape from the reality. Rikke enjoys self-vaildation and self-overturning. Additionally, she enjoys the art of observing, just thinking, and creating something cool.

As our journey to highlight the extraordinary members of the Global Leadership Organization (GLO) continues, we are excited to showcase Janice, a dynamic junior at Essec Business School in Paris currently on exchange at UC Berkeley. Janice's involvement with GLO since 2019 has been instrumental, serving with distinction on the Social Impact Committee as both Advisor and Consulting Director.

⭐️ Janice's commitment to the environment and sustainability is evident through her founding of an environmental NPO and facilitating a solar energy company's market entry. Her passion for broadening her understanding of the world, coupled with her ambition to weave together diverse experiences in consulting and finance, underscores her unique approach to leadership and social change.

Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Janice finds joy in exploring new terrains through jogging, capturing moments of life with quick sketches, and enriching her global perspective by befriending people from various cultures.

As we continue to introduce the distinguished members of our Global Leadership Organization (GLO) family, we’re proud to present Leo Xie, whose career trajectory and personal ethos make him a standout figure within our community.

⭐️ Leo’s professional journey is characterized by his dedication to sustainability. As a Consultant at Bain & Company, he lends his expertise to the energy and investor practices, navigating the complex landscapes of modern energy solutions and investments. His passion for a sustainable world was evident in his previous role at a Series A geothermal energy startup, where he was instrumental in advancing technologies aimed at making our planet a greener place.

A UC Berkeley alum, Leo led Venture Strategy Solutions, offering consulting to high-growth startups. He co-founded GLO’s Berkeley Chapter, hosting a landmark summit in 2019, and now leads it, showcasing his commitment to leadership and sustainability. Currently, Leo continues to shape the future of GLO as a member of the executive board and leader of the Berkeley Chapter.

Leo’s rich multicultural background, having grown up in Guangzhou, Toronto, and Beijing before settling in San Francisco, adds a valuable perspective to his work and leadership. This diverse upbringing has not only informed his global outlook but has also fueled his commitment to fostering sustainable and inclusive environments.

As an Engineering Manager at Google, he has dedicated the last eight years to fortifying web security, building enterprise solutions that shield billions of users and millions of websites across the globe. His current crusade against online fraud through reCAPTCHA Enterprise is a testament to his unwavering commitment to creating a safer digital world.

But Ryan’s contributions extend far beyond the realms of technology. He has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of GLO, serving diligently on our executive board and enriching our collective vision with his insights and expertise. His previous tenure as a board member for the Asian Google Network underscores his dedication to fostering diversity and inclusion within the tech community.

Ryan’s academic journey at Pomona College was a harmonious blend of musical artistry and technological prowess. As the concertmaster of the orchestra and the driving force behind the school-wide hackathon, he demonstrated an unparalleled ability to lead and innovate. Graduating with accolades in both Music and Computer Science, Ryan’s collegiate experience is a reflection of his balanced approach to life—merging creativity with analytical acumen.

Beyond her professional endeavors and community service, Emily's passions extend to health and fitness, basketball—both playing and coaching—outdoor adventures, and capturing the essence of her travels through photography.
